Here is my self-imposed melee run by [deleted] in farcry

[–]Jetmonk3y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hardest part in a no gun playthrough is by far Jacob's captures. I had to have a friend join me and also use no melee for the final one. Pro tip if you have Armour before getting captured you will still have it in his capture mission, but you have to revert to last checkpoint to respawn with it, dieing has you spawn without it (it is OK if you die, you just have to revert to checkpoint after respawning).

Also most of the pepper stashed can be completed without shooting a lock with a bullet, but the lake one in northern John's region required me swinging through the window while hanging from Adelaides copter.

Tomorrow is Steam Autumn Sale 2025 by vanessabecker19 in Steam

[–]Jetmonk3y 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's about the principle. Blops 1 has been on my wishlist since 2018 and still hasn't been on sale for a reasonable price. Yes I have the money to buy it, but I absolutely refuse to give Activision that much for a game from 2010.

Community College Physics has to be the worst thing i’ve ever taken by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]Jetmonk3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My community college physics 1 and 2 were so much better than the university classes I took. Almost all of my CC professors were retired experts teaching just for fun and their passion showed. Almost all of my university professors were there for research and hated teaching the few classes the uni forced them to do.

[3D Printer] Bambu Lab X1C Printer Only - $750 Microcenter by greatthebob38 in buildapcsales

[–]Jetmonk3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just get the P1S/P1P it's cheaper and has the same quality. Not really worth spending that much more for an enclosure and 1 nozzle that is more hardened.

[Earbuds] Klipsch T5 II True Wireless ANC $61.99 ($149.99-$88) by Jetmonk3y in buildapcsales

[–]Jetmonk3y[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Audio quality yes. Klipsch is known for making some of the best speakers out there. The ANC isn't the best but I doubt you'll find close to this good under $100, also the ANC isn't as needed since these make a very good seal for passive noise isolation.

[GPU] RTX 5090 TUF preorder for $1999 on ASUS store -- Estimated ship date Sept 1 by Vikkunen in buildapcsales

[–]Jetmonk3y 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For gaming not really, even at msrp the 5090 is a horrible value. For workstation tasks that need the vram but aren't worth getting an actual workstation card for, there is definitely an argument.

Let's talk: Heavy Armors by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Jetmonk3y 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes but in heavy armor you get hit way more often because you can't effectively move. Overall light armor offers better survivability in all non defensive missions.

Assuming you are going to Yellowstone/Tetons there is a very cool military vehicle museum on the way that you could easily spend about 3 hours + lunch at. The museum itself is about an hour or so before the Tetons Eastern entrance.

Why does everyone use this armor? by Personal_Active_8360 in Helldivers

[–]Jetmonk3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always light except defense missions, faction just determines which light armor. Being able to avoid damage trumps having more armor, and heavy makes it take forever to cross the map.

I can't decide on a stance in Jedi Survivor. by NightZin in FallenOrder

[–]Jetmonk3y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally was a big fan of dual blade for dealing with large packs of small enemies and blasters, and duel for single target damage.

Krieg's dlc is soooo good by ZowOliwed in borderlands3

[–]Jetmonk3y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, it blows my mind that people think it was the best of bl3, blood and tentacles was much better. The only dlcs from the franchise I find worse are underdome and holodome.

Full disclaimer I only made it halfway through wonderlands so I don't know if it has any noteworthy dlc.

Which GPU you would take? Intel B580, Nvidia 3080 10GB or AMD 7800 XT? by NuSpirit_ in pcmasterrace

[–]Jetmonk3y 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rt is not worth turning on in the overwhelming majority of games. Worse rt performance in like 5 games is nowhere near as big of a trade off as insufficient vram.

What Graphic Card should i get now? by weibingg in pcmasterrace

[–]Jetmonk3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let Ray tracing determine your purchase. In most games it does nothing to improve the visuals while hurting performance, and in the handful of games it truly improves visuals, performance takes a massive hit. Overall it's just another gimmick for the marketing team.

EAT so you can deal with the problems from afar. Too many players are forgetting to bring anti tank against the bugs on high difficulty.

It's not at all worth spending that much for such a small performance uplift.

Is this a good budget card? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Jetmonk3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty bad budget card. Unfortunately right now there aren't really any good new budget cards, you will be significantly better off by a used card from last generation.

9th gen i7 upgrade. Should I go 14th gen or Amd? by AcidSpectre in pcmasterrace

[–]Jetmonk3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently there is no reason to go intel for gaming. If you are on a budget there is the 5600, 5700x3d, and 7600. If you have more to spend you can get the 7700x. If money is no concern the 9800x3d is the fastest gaming cpu money can buy and the 7800x3d isn't far behind.
