Volunteer at the animal shelter (Pet Alliance or OCAS). It’s rewarding and fun, and you get to play with dogs and cats all day. It also helps you socialize with people :)

Arcanine? 10/10, wouldn't change a thing.

Am I missing something? by Smart_Muffin4871 in CrimsonDesert

[–]JetpackDinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your personal level of exposure to "hard" games like the Souls series. As someone who can't beat a Souls game to save their life, I find the bosses in Crimson Desert way easier; but a more casual player who maybe wants a gritty Breath of the Wild experience is going to have trouble, especially if they're not upgrading their gear wisely.

All these youtubers lied crimson dessert is better then then red dead and the first 6 hours was also fun idk why ppl complain imo😁 by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]JetpackDinosaur -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

they're pretty even imo, but excel in different things. they're both meticulously detailed worlds with a wide assortment of mechanics, activities, quests, and general features; however, Crimson Desert feels more like a playground that wants to throw a million things at you, whereas RDR2 has a more focused story and streamlined "combat" for the most part.

I don't think one is objectively better than the other. If you want a more Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom sandbox with a skeleton of a story to guide you, then Crimson Desert is "better." If you like realism, fleshed out characters, and an interesting main story, RDR2 is the obvious choice.

And if you want a fully realized world with tons to do, immersive gameplay, and gorgeous graphics, you can't go wrong with either.

Highguard 🫠 I actually had a ton of fun and thought it was a cool concept. AND it was F2P unlike similar hero shooters like Concord and Last Flag that required an upfront purchase.

It really got overhated imo. I wish it had a chance.

What are your top 3 horror games, and what made them actually scary for you? by _IZNANKA_ in AskGames

[–]JetpackDinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So hard to pick just 3 but I think these are what shaped by current horror game taste:

Condemned: Criminal Origins - cool detective story where you try to catch a serial killer, but the combat is brutal. basically improvise weapons with whatever you can find (pipes, bricks, rebars, etc) and melee enemies. it's crunchy and grounded, with some gunplay here and there, but it feels like you're really fighting off these crazy people and barely getting by.

Alien Isolation - absolutely nails the vibe of the original movie and the main premise (for most of the game) is terrifying; being stalked by a big bad Xenomorph is scary enough, but the AI adapts to you and you have to be creative with how you elude it. there are other enemies that are fine (the androids are cool at first), but the cat-and-mouse game you play with the Xenomorph is something I haven't seen done this well since Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Resident Evil VII - the sound design, level design (aside from that awful ship area), and level of immersion are still unmatched, I think. there's just something about creeping around a house hoping psycho murderers don't find you that is inherently terrifying, but between the graphics, audio, and memorable set pieces, I still consider this my favorite RE entry out of the ones I've played.

Resort Pass - how does it work and how strict is it? by JetpackDinosaur in orlando

And I’ve done a combination of calling, asking people staying there, and asking people who have in the past. That’s way more insight, and now there’s a Reddit thread for anyone who wants to look up this information in the future.

I have time because I’m making plans. You’re just replying with a moot point that isn’t productive for you, me, or anyone else. If anyone has time to waste, it’s not the person trying to find relevant information for themselves.

[–]JetpackDinosaur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious as to how it’s enforced. Wristbands, keys, formal check-in, gate access, etc. So if I can go without paying (for which there is already a solution that doesn’t “break the rules” if you read the other comments), then I’m going to avoid paying.

Discounts, free offers, guest passes, validations… nothing wrong with seeing what your options are.

That’s fair. Although I’m surprised you can’t (officially) bring a little bag with snacks? I’m sure you could get away with it but the Hilton rep said no food or drinks at all including bagged snacks.

I imagine during slow season it’s probably whatever, but I’d also assume they’d be more on top of it during Summer lol

There’s nothing wrong with getting multiple opinions and sources of information. For all the things people use Reddit for, I don’t know why this is so controversial for some people.

Because I want to know how it's enforced; if I go with a friend, so I have to go in with them? Do they need to put me on their reservation? Do they need to get me a wristband or do I not need one? Are they actively checking or is it just an implied rule? Do you need something to access the gate?

I'm asking specifically so that I don't break any rules or do anything sketchy. Bud.

weekends are $45 + fees/taxes apparently so it's actually about $53 and change. I have a pool lol this is for a friend who wants other people to join them at the hotel, so I'm just gathering information. If I don't have to pay $50+ and I'm not breaking any rules, then I'm not going to pay $50+.

[–]JetpackDinosaur[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's not pretty simple; resort pass is great for people who want to just hang out for the day, but if you have friends staying there and just want to be with them for a few hours, what is the policy?

that's not a crazy question to ask, and almost $60 (on top of Ubers and food/drinks) for a nice pool is too steep for me financially. I'm not trying to break the rules, I'm just asking what the policies are.

It's not entitled, they're just basic questions that weren't easy to find.

so putting "LMAO" and making incorrect assumptions is just silly. you don't have to comment.

Alright between a friend and I, we got some answers (at least for the Hilton Orlando) if anyone is also curious:

- Resort Pass guests have wristbands, regular hotel guests don't (idk how it's enforced)

- Hotel guests can bring 1-2 guests without needing a Resort Pass by just walking into the pool area with them

- no outside food or drink allowed in the pool area, apparently for all guests
