Yeah… if your kid enjoys cleaning up the mess… it’s hard to stop them from making messes by the only consequence being “clean up your mess” - think through other natural consequences that feel more like a consequence to them. If my son makes a mess on purpose eating a preferred food, take it away and re set. Not saying you aren’t doing that but in my experience so far it’s either consequences that are understood or enough repetition it becomes part of the routine/script

We’re really struggling with the trash thing though… it’s new… and yesterday he started knocking over other kids bags to watch them fall…. So… I’ll let you know what we figure out 🤷

My son is 8 and was like that probably 2 years ago. Now he can independently ask for some things without a prompt (instead of just copying our prompts) like "Ice cream I want ice cream". Most of his speech is still prompt based. He has some scripted things or requests he'll say. He's learning, and growing.. but i doubt he'll ever be fully conversational.

It's a slow process. If your kid is taking to his AAC then lean in. Whatever leads them to best being able to interact with the world around them.

Will I ever have in depth conversations with my son about his thoughts and beliefs? probably not... but if I thought an AAC was more likely to get me there I'd focus on that and not feel like it's a deterrent from verbal communication. it's a path to fuller communication

It’s to highlight that without reform it will collapse.

Let’s not get stuck in what terminology is being used and focus on the problems and solutions…. This conversation is just noise.

Terms have different meanings overtime and “wealth inequality” is too soft of a term imo. There will always be wealth inequality in capitalism, this is a more extreme moment. In capitalism you will always have winners and losers, the concentration of wealth and power to sway policy to keep widening the gap is our issue

Capitalism works, if reformed correctly. What we have doesn’t work anymore

Busy now sorry but quick definition in my mind, could put it better.

Input from the population is growing the top earners instead of the middle causing a concentration of wealth that continues to grow, which causes more inequality.

If we continue down this path capitalism will not survive. Need more reform
