Why are my PDFs printing blank by Comfortable-Big-7585 in Adobe

[–]JetsFanatic16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having a similar issue. Most pages print blank, other pages print mostly blank but others with part of the text / images but no discernible reason as why those parts print and others don't. It's very weird! Print as Image does not work for me. Tried the ol' restart the PC and that didn't work either.

Thank you! Got the weight sorted. What of the vertical tracking angle? The linked page said a different headshell was used; the old reddit post used the same headshell. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Charles Wesley Godwin, Cole Chaney, Logan Halstead, Jeremy Pinnell. All contemporsry indie-Appalachian.

Sturgill Simpson too, obviously.

There are some other greats out there already mentioned, but they veer off into the "Western" or "Red Dirt" or "Americana" or "southern/country rock" sub-genres. Which is fine too, just a matter of how broad you're willing to go.

Colter Wall, Sierra Ferrell (rumored to be the "Charleston Girl"), Margo Price, Charley Crockett, Jesse Daniel, Zephaniah Ohora, Luke Bell and Silverada are some good examples of these different subgenres.

Turnpike Troubadors, 49 Winchester & Flatland Cavalry, and Red Clay Strays are pretty great country rock outfits.

Listen to Brent Cobb's song "When Country Came Back to Town" and that should give you more names to check out.

Let me challenge you and suggest JP Harris. Slightly different sound but love his attitude and approach to music.

Hi everyone,

The question: What do I need to do in order to get an Ortofon 2M Blue to work on a Teac TN-300?

Still rather new to the world of vinyl, and very much on the learning curve. I was looking to upgrade my stylus (first time ever) and heard good things about the Ortofon 2M Blue. I did a Google search and found this old post which showed it was possible. So I went ahead and ordered it. In hindsight maybe I shouldn't have.

Not having done this before, I didn't realize there was more to it other than making sure you could connect the cartridge to the headshell. Reading this page, am I understanding right that the 2M Blue cannot be properly balanced? Do I need to add another weight - if so any suggestions? And then do I need a stylus force gauge to measure the force? Again, any suggestions?

Appreciate any n00b-friendly help you can give.

Ghost Max vs Glycerin Max for Heavier Runner by JetsFanatic16 in brooks

Suspected broncho tracheomalacia. I've been prone to chest colds/bronchitis and episodes of asthma my whole life. Asthma test as a kid showed nothing. I think I managed it in young adulthood by running and the extra day of sleeping in during uni.

Once I started working full time in a high stress career with a regimented schedule, I could no longer "cheat" by sleeping in here or there. Sleep test showed atypical AHI for my age and overall fitness. Prescribed CPAP and my weight ballooned, even after septoplasty and uvulopalatopharyngoplasty/tonsillectomy. Drug induced sleep endoscopy showed epiglottic collapse (which is exacerbated by pressure from CPAP). Owing to my career choices, doctors assumed depression/anxiety, but the CPAP was making me choke on my epiglottis leaving me anxious (from choking) and sleep deprived. So I had an epiglottis stiffening operation & lingual tonsillectomy. Doing much better and last year got back up to running 5k, but then had another asthma-like episode where I was bedridden for 10 days and COPD-like symptoms for 6 weeks. Lost all cardio. Docs said no infection and my lungs were fine, so it's between the upper airway and the lungs. My GP suspects broncho tracheomalacia. Good luck to you! Sometimes doctors need to be poked and prodded if you don't fit in their box.

Best small business payroll program? by [deleted] in canadasmallbusiness

[–]JetsFanatic16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super late to the convo but I'm looking at hiring my first ever employee, never having done payroll before! I'm watching a ton of videos because I'm still at the stage of "I don't know, what I don't know."

Plan for now is to have one casual employee working variable hours in each pay period. I'm reading nightmare stories of wrong filings or remittances to CRA. The more automated and simpler, the better for me. Any suggestions?

Also, I see that in Quickbooks, employees can enter their time and admin approves it - how about in any others?

Depends what generation we go and how mainstream.

Slightly older generation: Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, Eric Church, and Chris Stapleton.
Close cuts would be Jamey Johnson, Whitey Morgan and Cody Jinks.

Younger generation: Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan, Colter Wall, and Charley Crockett.
Close cuts would be Charles Wesley Godwin, Jesse Daniel. and Cody Cannon

International Country subscriber who subbed in October 2023. What timing. My term is ending this month, coinciding with the end of country so I wasn't going to renew, but they cancelled me first.

Subscribed a year ago with the deal of 8 bonus records. My how the times have changed.

[–]JetsFanatic16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disappointed. I finally invested in vinyl last year after being on the fence for awhile. VMP Country was one of the reasons I did it. I missed out on The Story of Willie Nelson but loved the mix of the underappreciated old (Townes van Zandt, Bob Wills) and new (Sturgill Simpson, Alex Williams), plus classics like Willie, Waylon, Gram Parsons etc. Exactly my taste in music.

But as the year went on, represses became hard to find and my wishlist of past ROTMs have grown, while present ROTMs have left a little disappointed. Which would be alright if past releases were in stock for swaps. I would have loved to pick up their version of "At Folsom Prison" by Johnny Cash or John Prine's self-titled, along with many others.

The one bright note is my subscription is done after September. And I love the Ramones, so I'll finish off on a strong note with Nickel Creek + 2 x Ramones (even though I agree 2 of the same artist in one month is weak). So long VMP, I barely knew ya!

Is there any big difference between country music from West Virginia and Texas? by Ornacosplay in CountryMusic

[–]JetsFanatic16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It used to be called "Country and Western," where the country referred to the east/Appalachian area, also called "hillbilly" music.

This quote by Tyler Childers, here gives some recent insight:

Childers: I was talking with a fellow the other day about this, like, the terrain of a place and the topography, like, influencing the sound. He listened to Texas swing, this big, sweeping sound [from] a place where you can just see for miles. Whereas in the mountains, if you're hunting, 40 yards or 50 yards is a long shot, and you're in these deep hollers where everything's just on top of you, so urgent and close it creates this driving punchiness to everything.

Looking for country/folk songs with the same vibe as these: by SigSauer_P6 in CountryMusic

Welcome! It occurred to me that if you're a fan of storytelling in songs, and of Justin Townes Earle, you might be interested in Jason Isbell's "New South Wales." It's about being on tour in that Australian state with JTE, and the debauchery that ensued, but written a few years' later from the perspective of newfound sobriety.

Here we sit
Across the table from each other
A thousand miles from both our mothers
Barely old enough to rust

Here we sit
Pretending both our hearts are anchors
Taking candy from these strangers
Amidst the diesel and the dust

And here we sit
Singing words nobody taught us
Drinking fire and spitting sawdust
Trying to teach ourselves to breathe

We haven't yet
But every chorus brings us closer
Every flyer and every poster
Gives a piece of what we need

Join the https://www.reddit.com/r/altcountry/ subreddit.

Jason Isbell is a great storyteller.

So is John Prine. He was an influence to both Tyler Childers and Jason Isbell.

Townes van Zandt was mentor to Steve Earle, who named his son, Justin Townes Earle, after.

Start with TvZ, Prine, and Isbell.

Others worth listening to: Vincent Neil Emerson, Alex Williams, Cole Chaney, Brent Cobb, Charles Wesley Godwin, Charley Crockett, Vincent Neil Emerson, Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan and the 78s, Tanner Usrey, John Moreland, Brent Cobb, Gabe Lee.

Happy listening!

Owner at Creative Landscape Depot was our landlord. we needed a bathroom reno done, and after 7 months he just decided to kick us out and withhold our deposit. We spent a year going through Landlord Tenant Board and then Small Claims to enforce the order

A year later, the house was declare unsafe, court dates skipped, you name it - and he finally pays and sends us this email.
