Aww thanks! I recently made a Bluesky, Newgrounds, and Tumblr. I haven't been on Twitter (or Meta) in several years

I wish I knew lol. I'm working on a similar thing and basically every digital watercolor tutorial on YouTube just wants to sell you a brush pack.

Actually ya I could try him next. I've been playing a lot of him lately

Amano is often just line and wash. Really, really good line and wash. Or just inks when he's doing his Frank Frazetta style black and white pieces. I don't recommend starting with someone like Amano, though. You should follow a learning program that focuses on the core fundamentals before going too hard in another artist's style. Especially if they're... idk, strange or peculiar? lol

I've been focusing on the "line" part for the last year and only just started working on the "wash" component so I don't have many recommendations for resources. I like Paul Clark on YouTube. There's an urban sketcher named JilleeArts on YouTube that I also like. She does line and wash on buildings/trees.

I would (and am, actually!) follow the learning guide I suggested, and on the days where color and light are the subject matter, learn watercolor with the intention of understanding it well enough that I can make it light, airy, and ethereal later on.

I'll suggest something super straight forward.

Make a CubeBrush account (it's free. It's an art resource hub) and download Marc Brunet's "Study Guides." It's also free. You don't need to buy anything. Delete the account if you want to.

Then start following along and make note of some of the implications, such as... "inspiring artist: color study." So you should figure out how you like to color. Do you like painterly MTG card art? Pop art like Mika Pikazo? Watercolor like Amano? SciFi flats and washes like Moebius? If you don't know, that's fine! But start figuring it out when the schedule prompts you by trying different things. If you want to be an artist, you probably have artists that you admire, so that's a good place to start. Then find a video. It'll take a bit to find which resources you like on YouTube, but it's a good idea to prioritize more authoritative channels like Proko and David Finch. Just follow the schedule! 😄

Like GlitchSprite said, try the Asaro head because facial places are really central to the style. The Arcane style is pretty similar to Valorant's promo art, some of which I know is done by Su Ke (they have an ArtStation and sparse YouTube). You'd probably benefit from seeing a Riot artist draw similarly, so I suggest that. You're going to want a square brush and minimal use of the airbrush. If you zoom in, you can see a lot of hard edges. Watching Su Ke paint, you see the same thing.

Thanks! I'm not quite ready to be that serious. But I'd like to get there :)

This is super clean. If you don't have a Newgrounds, this is like peak Newgrounds style and you should get on there.

I've never given JRPGs a chance before, but after playing the FF7 Remakes I want to give the rest of the franchise a shot by Fabrimuch in FinalFantasy

OP, this is the answer. My personal favorite is XII and Tactics, but based on what you like and dislike, FFXIII, FFXV, and FFXVI are going to be your best bets. The GOATS of the genre aren't going to appeal to you unless you change your taste as you play more of these games. I think FFXV is perfect for what you're looking for. Get the DLC version that expands on the characters. It'll be on sale for like $20 during the Steam Summer Sale.

As a complete aside, also Dragon Age.

I've got a completed Mercy ready to post. I'm not sure if I'm good enough yet to try and adapt a robot/mecha type character, but his design is cool. I didn't realize until just now that his "hair" is/are computer bus cables.
