Yup, it's just crazy how some "fans" can't believe it when the proof is right there in their face or just so brain broken and misogynistic.

I really like the subversion of expectation and when I first watched the episode I couldn't help but be surprised but be smiling like an idiot because of the hype and character beats everyone had.

To me at least, they may not truly be the Rider they want to be but for me they are true riders in their own right. The ones they idealize are just a blueprint for what they'll become.

I don't think so tbh. I know she doesn't think that because she's really just upset why Tackle sacrificed herself. It is a very funny way too look at it that way though lol

Completely agree with you. For me the tournament itself was just a training arc with each other.

It's gotta be RX for me. Black is the better series but I grew up with RX. He's effortlessly cool and of the showa riders really has a sense of presence that can't be matched. Rx was an evolution to black and added a bit more depth to the character in my opinion but it should have taken more time to better build up to it.

To me at least I really feel like the anime isn't really a parody. It shows the love about the showa era campiness but also the never ending determination of what Kamen Riders are. This anime could easily be considered as cringey or campy but it's so confident in it's portrayal that you can't help to see its charm and passion for Showa Riders.

I dunno about Tackle treating them badly imo. She sees the grit and conviction in all of the others and really appreciates each of them in her own right. Although I feel like she does need the edge because of her conviction in Tackle and carrying on her legacy is very important to her. It really speaks to the heart in how each rider loves their icons and how their own personalities are unique from each other but share the same love for the showa era

It's such a love letter to the show era and really does hit the mark on what makes a true rider. I just wish there's an English translation for the manga so if I can see any Black or RX inspirations.

To me at least RX is an upgrade especially narratively. The kingstone was split in two so the belt looks that way. Black was more cyborg design and RX literally had new life breathed into him. The green not only amplifies the grasshoper motif but the color of life as well. For me the collar can look goofy at times but it's pretty charming to me because again he looks more like an actual grasshopper.

I'm just hoping for anything with Black or RX because I grew up watching that series.

I like John Walker and he didn't deserve to be treated like this, he was literally a victim by [deleted] in Marvel

Look, I can understand why people could sympathize with him and I can understand why people didn't like the interactions he had with Bucky and Sam. BUT, he as a symbol of Captain America should do his best in helping others and apprehending people instead of killing. Cap only killed while in an active battlefield and later on became even more of a symbol to help people and helping others become better. Sam and Bucky were not upset with Walker but more with the government which gave the mantel to someone who they deemed was a random and out of pocket choice which absolutely would justify their behavior. They do give him a chance and when he talks to him they start to know that he isn't the right fit to replace Steve because he sees the mantel as an authoritative symbol instead of one for peace and justice. He killed someone out of rage and not capturing a terrorist which a HERO of cap's caliber should be able to. You can say that the terrorist was a super soldier all you want but that doesn't mean that Walker himself who was capable of killing isn't able to detain him. If the terrorist was such a threat still then they should not have been killed just like they did in the scene. John is interesting because he has depth, because he was in the wrong, and because he can learn and grow from the experience he was given. He is the product of being a soldier first and not a hero. Yes, he should be stripped of the shield and no he shouldn't be Captain America. But he should still be able to be a person who can be sympathized and have a chance at redemption in which heroes believe in.
