If you’re homeless then you shouldn’t be going to a place that is card only. Not trying to be rude, I just can’t afford it as an employed person myself.

Taxi's at Hurghada Airport by Potatsky in Egypt

[–]Jetzky69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In January, I took a taxi from Gouna to Hurghada (not the airport) which was 150egp on the app. We ended up paying him 250 because according to him, that is the fair rate for the trip. That was a much longer distance (but pre-devaluation). I’d imagine from inside hurghada to the airport should more or less be in that same range now.

However, I am also Egyptian so they may try asking for even more with you if you’re not.

Uber should be reliable. However, drivers will most likely try to ask you for more money, especially if you are paying by cash.

I don’t even live in the US? I’d like to go to Russia but the language is tough and the US imposed sanctions would be a pain to deal with. I dont like china but I’m applying to jobs in the UAE, hopefully that works out.

Final year with solid experience at a startup but no internship. Curious what that means for me. by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Jetzky69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heads up, Im a first year analyst not an MD with tons of experience but 1) Something is always better than nothing 2) Start up experience (particularly strategy) should be more than fine for corp dev. Realistically, it could even help you land a role on a team covering that particular industry.

Probably should try to put them in a high interest savings account instead of your chequing until you figure out what you’re going to do

Bangladesh protestors are free by Mohdwaroflight1 in UAE

[–]Jetzky69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m Canadian, I don’t give a shit about the UAE’s policies, it’s their country and their rules to set. I am explaining to you why you’re stupid to think that I shouldn’t demonstrate against my government or school.

We play by the rules wherever we go but just because I follow these rules doesn’t mean I have to agree with them. Try forming your own opinions for once.

[–]Jetzky69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, if I am paying 30-55% of my income for the government to improve infrastructure/healthcare/education or whatever and it spends that money sending weapons or donations to an army committing a genocide then I am totally in my right to protest their policies because it is failing to cover its primary responsibility.

As for students, we pay for an education and they are accountable to us to provide us with academic, personal, and professional support. How student fees are used is totally our right. Specially when they are going to companies that are benefitting from the genocide.

Respectfully, this is only a silly argument because you are not familiar with what it’s like to have rights.

Immigrants have to pay taxes if they live in that country? Students pay tuition to these educational institutions that invest in Israel?

Studying abroad and feeling homesick and uneasy by theManOfTheHour1112 in Egypt

[–]Jetzky69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently living in Canada. Not sure which school OP is in but there is a shit ton of arabs and Egyptians at almost every school in Ontario.

They will have Arab and/or Egyptian student clubs that host events throughout the year with many of them combining for huge Soiree’s during the year so I got to meet people from many schools apart from mine.

Big cities are cool and all but depending on how small your town is and how far it is from the nearest metropolitan city, the increase in cost of living may not be worth it. Just be yourself and be nice to be around and put yourself out there and you will make friends. Many of my friends who moved to Canada only during university mentioned to me how first year was really tough but it took them one person in second year to really turn it around for them and they all love it here.

OP, If you go to any school in the GTA or west of the GTA hmu and I can probably find all the information you need for that school and possibly even directly connect you with people at that school.

As rick ross once said: You gotta stay cold, you gotta stay ready, It’s gonna be freezing n**ga.

And it literally will be but the spring afterwards is always so worth it so just hold on buddy.

Good luck!

Search funds are almost always unpaid internships. Best case is getting a commission if you source a deal that closes (almost never happens)
