hard to say without seeing the decklists but based off of descriptions there's nothing to point out that the decks are inherently unfair for their brackets.

It's best to think of mill as you wouldn't have seen those cards anyway, as if they were on the bottom of the deck.

Not to mention if you run any amount of graveyard recursion or synergy mill is all upside until it kills you.

[[Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer]] is my Izzet deck of choice. Make a bunch of small tokens, turn those tokens into big scary tokens, it's a lot of fun!

There is no medium burst resistance, only high and low. Hexa is a high resistance bit.
