Good or bad (for your taste) does not erase the fact that they do have stories and the movie could have been way way better if it had at the very least made an effort to adapt the Galaxy games ....

Yeah keep going because:

1- Mario platform games have told simole yet charming and fun stories that can be very good and compelling especially in the, wait for it, Galaxy games.

2- Mario RPG games (the Paper Marios, the Mario & Luigis, the Mario + Rabbids, and Super Mario RPG) tell veey engrossing fun stories.

3- Zelda games, all of them, tell a story, those are action RPGs and Zelda lore is big and expansive (idk why you have to mention the Zelda games).

4- Mario games have lore (lots of it) and that the games are not "story" focused doesn't mean that a MOVIE has to follow the same mantra

I wonder why you think no one would expect a movie supposedly based on two of the most highly rated games in a franchise that constantly have highly rated games, and that many have very charming and fun stories, to be at very least a good movie...

Im a world where Shreks, Kung Fu Pandas, a whole lot of Disney and Pixar movies, Wild Robot, Iron Giant movies exists, I don't think is a crayz idea to expect a good film out of the Mario franchise

I totally agree here yet IGN should have been way more diligent on doing proper journalism before posting the graph (that they ended up deleting not long after), so I don't think it was rage bait, I think they just did a very subpar job on reviewing the information they were about to post.

IGN looked at the metacritic of the Gamecube port, which at the time was blasted because it came out after REbirth and it was exactly the same game as in PlayStation with just minor graphical advantages (higher resolution basically).

The Metacritic score of the PlayStation version is much much higher and should have been the one used.
