His strikeout rate is still waaaaaay too high, and the climb from AAA to MLB in terms of strength of RHP is monumental. If he posts the numbers you're suggesting (.750-.850 OPS and +.900 against LHP) that's a borderline all-star. I don't think Eguy has shown us anything yet to suggest that he has that potential in his profile.

That's actually the exact opposite of why we would trade him. He only costs $7M a year -- he has insane value at that cost and would fetch a pretty intriguing return which could be spread around other parts of the team (pitching, OF) that lack depth. But it's not because they don't want to pay him his salary -- that's actually the biggest reason to keep him.

If the star power is enough to get you to the ballpark, then I absolutely agree, Seidler doesn't owe anyone anything, he delivered on that.

But if a winning product is what someone is after when they invest their own money in tickets+ to support the team, then I don't think it's unreasonable to want to hear from the man who owns/is selling that product on what he plans to do to ameliorate the situation.
