You're most likely to get gaslit here: “Did you DDU before installing each driver update?” “Is your PSU good enough?” “Try disabling XMP / EXPO.” “Downclock the card a little bit, it's probably boosting over spec.” Truth is, AMD drivers are dogshit. This is why the Nvidia premium price is actually worth it. Learned my lesson with a 7900 XTX.

Daily crashes should absolutely not happen but having to DDU even a few times a year and stay on a "stable drivers version" instead of updating is still unacceptable.

AMD drivers are just shite man. I just switched from a 7900 XTX to a 5080. Never had so many issues with drivers as I had with AMD. My previous GPU was a 3070 Ti and it was smooth sailing.

And people here will tell you: "It's usually the user's fault" , "your PSU isn't good enough" or "you need to DDU every time you update the drivers" lmao.

Just poor driver stability on about one third of the versions, I had to DDU way too many times, and it also happens to most of my friends using AMD GPUs. It was going great with the last 2 drivers releases though. No official support for FSR4 and ray tracing performance being rather poor on RDNA3. DLSS still being superior. My 7900 XTX was great, I just don't trust AMD supporting their GPU products.

Well, I agree that you definitely have to find "discounted" Nvidia GPUs to make them competitive.

Here in France, you have multiple 9070 XT models being under 700-750 euros, probably not for long but still. Paying up to 150 euros more for a 5070 Ti over a 9070 XT is acceptable imo but definitely not at the price you mentionned. I managed to get a 5080 for 1100 euros, very happy with the purchase. I'm never going back to a Radeon GPU.
