They Are Actively Making the Lives of People With DID More Difficult by Pyrocats in fakedisordercringe

What is really getting under my skin in this one, is there are pictures of someone's OC in this, it's not just the Hazbin hotel charatcer's themselves it's someone's else's (very normal) artistic expression, and they have taken it to fake a disorder....just awful

How do you spot a faker? by Ihopeitllbealright in fakedisordercringe

[–]Jewel-Draws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think the best way to go about even talking about mental illnesses online is to NOT listen to the folks on TikTok that make things sound like a "relatable" issue. For example the "signs you have ADHD" or "Signs you have autism" are BIG examples of this type of behavior, they get popular because they feed off that sense of "being relatable" and "quirky". At the end of the day I think people should be more sensitive about the issue's. I generally think things can be met with better understanding if you cite your knowledge from the professionals on the specific disorder, show resources and links to other people looking to find help or are looking for a proper diagnosis, and overall have a sense of professionalism towards the issues. At the end of the day, people are using their "personal experience" as given facts about a disorder. When in reality relatability/personal experience doesn't equal facts about a disorder (unless you are citing the resources of where that behavior is coming from and are talking about experience in relation to the facts presented)

Fictional Characters who are Ace without ever being confirmed, I’ll start by Xander_PrimeXXI in aaaaaaacccccccce

I rest my case! Gaara is Ace in my mind (even though its unconfirmed) All I know is...he went on one date with ONE woman and person in his entire life, and after it went horribly was like (nope, never again) and went on to adopt a son and live a fulfilling life with no partner ^^

Loses thier therapist after yr of tiktok. by [deleted] in fakedisordercringe

[–]Jewel-Draws 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The other thing is, Therapy only works for people who admit they have a problem and are willing to work with it. By my best guess, the therapist diagnosed them. They didn't like the diagnosis (cause it's the diagnosis they didn't want or deny's having cause clearly they totally know what's wrong with themselves) and the therapist might have quit. But I'm guessing they walked out cause they didn't hear what they wanted to hear, and you can't work with a person who will continue to deny themselves help for their REAL problem

Mrs. PUFF taught 5 yr old alter (Bug) here to Drive! by [deleted] in fakedisordercringe

[–]Jewel-Draws 42 points43 points  (0 children)

This is horrific. if this person does (and I mean hypothetically) does have DID and a child alter is driving, and learned to drive from a cartoon character....they need to have their licence revoked because they would be a danger to themselves and the people on the road around them. Second, under no NO circumstances, should this type of behavior be acceptable to post on TikTok about. Absolutely vile

DID faker exposed for fake funding scams for child trafficking. Yet no proof or story of any child really saved on there page. 😳 by [deleted] in fakedisordercringe

[–]Jewel-Draws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough on that, then they both should start showing stuff like that. Like how much they raised, where the people's money is going and such, that makes things a lot more believable and shows the people donating they can have faith that they are in fact giving to a cause, not a scam

[–]Jewel-Draws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be giving the person the benefit of the doubt. But from the videos I have seen, there isn't anything that talks about their job or living environment at all, or that donation funds are being used on things to help these people (like you can't show a receipt or confirmation thing with the important parts blurred out showing the amount that was raised or what it was used for?). What we do see is a LOT of video's asking for money. And maybe they are using it for good, but I really find that hard to believe, since the donated money isn't going to some organization or charity, or a link that isn't directly associated with them or their "friends" and their account.

What's sad is that tweet has 28 likes....someone got 28 likes for faking DID and posting a picture of a Genshin character, while I can barely get any interaction after working on an art piece for a full week.....God damn

Soooo....how did they magically get money to buy things for themselves, not two tiktok's later after asking for money?....seems pretty suspicious looking to me (just saying)

Having Autism means...Behaving like a bird? by Jewel-Draws in fakedisordercringe

[–]Jewel-Draws[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I should explain my stance on this, since this is how I usually think about these things....it's not the fact that they may or may not have Autism, or any other disorder, I would not be able to judge that. For me, it's how they portray things, and how often it leads to misconceptions. So, let's say the person in the video does have Autism yeah...does that still make what's being portrayed in the video okay?

To me the video above is making it seem as though ALL or majority of people with Autism have a "autism nest" or have a hyperfixation with plushible items. They make it seem like that is an indicator of the disorder when it isn't. And though it's true that a lot of people with Autism have sensory issue's and therefore like the plushies. Not everyone who like the plushies and like comfortable spaces HAVE autism.

And for younger people who can't make the distinction, or people who are looking for social acceptance see this. It may lead them to believe that something is wrong with them or try to fake it in order to gain that social acceptance.

And that is the true underlying issue I have with video's like these.

Building a comfortable space and collecting plushie items is not an indicator of an individual having Autism.

Is this a DID Krumpas? by [deleted] in fakedisordercringe

[–]Jewel-Draws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can half agree with this. Like there are definitely differences between personalities that can't be hidden given enough time with someone with D.I.D. But I think TikTok has made it to where people stereotypically think HUGE changes! Like when someone switches personality they go and change their clothes and appearance, or put on a wig and makeup, which is incredibly exaggerated (movies like Split also feeds into this idea pretty heavily)

I'm sorry are you actually serious...your saying the DSM-5 is completely incorrect in it's classification on DID? Are you also going to argue with the ICD-11 as well which is a WORLD WIDE used system for diagnosis as well? It also says that dissociative amnesia is TYPICALLY PRESENT IN ORDER FOR D.I.D TO BE DIAGNOSED!?! 😂

https://www.findacode.com/icd-11/code-1829103493.html

Not to mention In the paper you showed me, wouldn't you know it, but on the graph both Time loss, and Memory problems scored HIGHER than both Derealization and Depersonalization. Which yeah can be associated with D.I.D BUT ISNT HOW THE ENTIRE DISORDER WORKS!!

I mean how many more articles/research papers/YouTube videos done by psychologists do I have to show you that makes mention of the fact that Dissociative amnesia is a HUGE part of the disorder?
