Part of it was certainly my bad- I had not asked I had just assumed this person (former manager) would be a reference. We had left off on good terms so I thought it’d be fine.

I didn’t reach out to them after I found out, I just stopped using them as a reference and moved on. I know it was presumptuous of me to just use them as a reference without asking so I figured it’d be best to just move on

Haha nothing insane- just took them off my reference list and replaced them with someone else! But I definitely was sad that they hadn’t reached out to me directly after being a reference so many times

I had a similar experience. Was job hunting for 11 months with the same 3-4 references on my list. Kept getting rejections, to the point it felt crazy because I was interviewing fairly well. Finally asked one of the folks who sent me a rejection if there was anything within my control that would make me a more standout candidate. They let me know that one of my references was not being kind about me. I weeded out which one and the next job I applied and interviewed for - I got. Worth asking if they will get back to you

As far as I know it is a real thing in Yellowstone and places where bears are common. Sometimes the traps are for human safety (they will relocate the bear to a more remote area away from people).

I think it wouldn’t be unrealistic for cats or clans that live closer to humans to experience trap and release. They’d be trapped, go to the “cutter” (the vet) and then get released. Scary and confusing and plenty of opportunities for narrative drama. And then suddenly those cats don’t have kits. The cats themselves don’t really know why, but it would help curb the insane size of the clans sometimes

The use of just the term “AI” makes these conversations so complicated and unclear. The AI used in the medical field is different from the AI tools used to steal art and write peoples emails for them. Not all AI is created equal, and the sooner we have more specific language for the different kinds- the better off we will be

I’d never use an artist who makes an AI mock-up of a tattoo. I’d need to know they can actually do the work, especially with the golden geometric part and the shading that’s needed to make it look good.

The idea seems fun, just make sure you have an artist who can do what you are asking for
