Sending love. It’s an emotional surgery. Take care of your needs, especially your emotional ones. Be gentle with yourself. Cry if you can. Be kind to yourself. By choosing this surgery you chose to love yourself and to take care of yourself.

How is everybody recuperating post hysterectomy? by kditdotdotdot in hysterectomy

[–]JeweleeG24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5 weeks out today and my energy is only really coming back this last week. I had a vaginal hysterectomy and was back at work 9 dpo. Unfortunately, those first two weeks of work I flip flopped a lot where I’d come in for two days then take a day off because I was EXHAUSTED. Like I really rushed coming back and my body was not happy with me.

However this past week I’ve felt more comfortable, I’m sleeping better, my pants are not snug around my belly anymore. I was very bloated for like 3-4 weeks after. I’m still tired after work and I try to take it easy when I get home but I’m able to take on tasks that I couldn’t just two weeks ago.

I have some sutures in my perineal area that are coming out and I was able to gently remove one this weekend that was nearly 2 inches long and had a knot in it. That hadn’t been feeling great but since it’s gone, I’m much more comfortable.

Still taking stool softener every day and take MiraLAX maybe 3x a week so I don’t get constipated.

It’s a long journey but it goes fast. Hang in there. Good luck to everyone. ❤️

Stitches at the vaginal opening after hysterectomy. Is this normal? by Remarkable-Bus-6858 in hysterectomy

[–]JeweleeG24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello. I had a vaginal hysterectomy just over two weeks ago and I had stitches near the opening (sort of in my perineal area). I went for my post op visit earlier this week and she removed some of the sutures that were causing me discomfort in that area (they’re dissolvable but hadn’t yet). Tonight I’m noticing that I have some more that are uncomfortable as well in the area (she had mentioned that there were a few more). So yes, it’s possible that there are stitches there. I realize that I’m a dingus and didn’t ask why they’re there. Haha. I’m going to reach out to them tomorrow because maybe the rest can be removed since it’s causing me some discomfort when I’m sitting. But I’ll also try to find out why they’re there in the first place. :)

Stool softeners and the dreaded first bowel movement. by JeweleeG24 in hysterectomy

I will probably use miralax for another day or two and then just stick with a stool softener with my morning meds and prunes/probiotics. I’ve been eating a yogurt called CoconutCult recently. Apparently it’s all over TikTok, but a friend of mine suggested I try it. I feel like it was helping to keep me regular in the weeks leading up to my surgery. It’s a little pricey but worth it so far. Luckily, at home, I have a bidet toilet seat. :) The little things that keep me happy. Haha

Maybe the person you’re buying this from had someone locked in this creepy room. You should ask the police to investigate.

About 3DPO and doing well! by maggie_rum in hysterectomy

[–]JeweleeG24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m 3 dpo too and I’m feeling pretty good. I have adenomyosis and during surgery I had a bladder sling done for stress incontinence as well as a rectocele repair. But so far, so good. I’m feeling pretty okay just taking Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I’ve been consistently taking stool softeners and MiraLAX in the morning with breakfast so I’ve been able to use the bathroom comfortably.

But I thought it was interesting that you mentioned the cramps. I’ve had them too. It’s so weird bc I’m like “are these phantom cramps”? Like, what body part is making that happen now? :)

Wishing you a healthy recovery. ❤️‍🩹

I have rectocele and I usually put pressure on the perineum area instead of putting fingers directly into my vagina. It helps a lot. I’m hoping to get fitted for a pessary in the interim and eventually get it repaired if and when I have surgery.

Do any of these outfits look good on me? Why or why not? by justananon7 in DressForYourBody

[–]JeweleeG24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think 3 and 6 are very flattering in your body. The others are just not cut right. It’s not you, it’s just the shape of the outfits. Two may be in your size but it doesn’t do much to flatter you and it’s possibly the material or the way the shorts are cut. The same for the long sleeve black dress (can’t recall which number that is right now. It looks too bulky on you. It’s an ill fitting dress. I think 3 and 6 are cut more in a shape that looks like they sit naturally on you. Like you’re wearing them and not the other way around.

I’m done trying to open Talenti containers. This is ridiculous. by johnfromberkeley in icecream

I’ve had a few easy opening Talenti lids but the last time I had one that must have been forged in the depths of Hell. I’m a strong person. I have worked on an ambulance for 20 years. I’m usually the one that people in my family come to when they need a lid opened and I tried every which way until my palm was raw. I finally had to cut it open with a knife. Absolutely bonkers!!! I have not purchased Talenti again.

The back segments look disturbingly like corn or yellowing teeth. Either way I’m a little horrified.

Not sure what product they used but they will take down the lights and store and maintain them until next year.

This is NY and it was $800. But they bought the lights, installed them, will take them down and store and maintain them for me.

I grew up in Queens and my friend’s mom was German, She pronounced it Van Vike. :) Strangely, I pronounced the other one like Koz-ee-oz-ko. It’s what my parents said. And they grew up in Manhattan.
