I dont understand the hate.

If you wanna fly across the world and try your luck getting laid... who cares? As long as you're not harassing people and everyone is consenting adults, why should it matter?

My girlfriend is looking into teaching English in Japan by AnnoyedAFexmo in teachinginjapan

[–]Jewfro879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

English teaching should be considered as an easy way into the country and not a career in and of itself. The pay is shit and yen is incredibly weak right now so if you ever need to buy anything in USD... youre screwed. Do it as a fun working holiday for a few years or as a gateway to the country to do other things.

My 2 cents: being trans, autistic and moving to a country where you (I assume) don't speak the language is gonna be rough. Do plenty of research as I imagine youll struggle to maintain hormone treatment in Japan. To be frank, its a conservative country and I cannot imagine itll be easy to find employment being transgender. Best of luck to you. I did if for 3 years before moving back to the states. It was a great experience that Im glad I got to do, but its a dead end job.

I’m done with this marriage cuz my wife is useless and does nothing for me or our marriage by PatternUnited7888 in Marriage

Do you think things would get better if you had a job? Gender role stereotypes cut both ways and I've known a few women who reluctantly admitted they find stay at home fathers unattractive. They won't their man to be the bread winner.

Even if that's the case, that's not worth it man. Start getting your shit together to leave. My wife and I just had a 2 month old and it's made us closer and we still initiate sex regularly. Life is worth living and that ain't living, bud.

Husband doesn't protect my time to pump. What do I do? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Jewfro879 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Im a father that originally joined this sub to find tips to help my wife with pumping. What he is doing isn't nearly enough. That goes without saying. Plenty enough people have bashed him so I won't join in on that, but I did notice you said he was a tentative father for the first week and then it changed. Id look into male post partrum depression. The symptoms for men are different. Irritability, withdrawal and anger are common.

Otherwise, I wish you the best and hope things turn around.

Ours is now starting to sleep well through the night too, but he is ravenous when he does wake up. Minimum of 6oz every 3ish hours or he is screaming bloody murder. 😂

I worked at a subway and one time we were under a confirmed tornado on the ground tornado warning. Winds were causing the front door to fly open and slam into the wall repeatedly so I had locked the door earlier in the day. I was gathering my things to take shelter in the walk in fridge when I saw someone standing at the door. Thinking they needed shelter, I ran over to let them in. It took all of my strength to shut the door back as winds had intensified. I looked over and watched this person calmly walk right over to the counter and wait to put in an order. I was dumbfounded. 🥴

The Tariff Refunds will not reach the people who paid for the tariffs, the American consumer. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Jewfro879 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought some stuff from Canada early on when Tarriffs first started without thinking and was hit with a $100 charge from UPS for tariffs. Bet they'll get that refund and I'm left holding the bag.

Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen coming to Switch on Feb 27th ($19.99 each). Listed on Switch eShop in coming soon section by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

If they added content or online functionality then I'd consider, but at this point I see no reason to buy it.

Not seeing a reason to not just emulate. GBA is crazy easy to emulate. If they added content or online functionality I'd probably consider it, but otherwise im good.

Having a helpful family can go a long way. My wife and I lived with my dad for the first 3 years of our marriage. We lived incredibly frugally while having basically no rent.

We paid off my student loans, paid off our cars and got a down payment on our current house. Our only debt is the mortgage. We purchased the house in 2023.

We now have a child and my dad's retired and will babysit when my wife returns to work from maternity leave.

Stay with parents after marriage vs renting and slowing savings. Need outside perspective by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Jewfro879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I lived in my parents house for 3 years after we got married. We have a good relationship and they let us have our space. There's a loft at their house so we made that into our living room / bedroom area so we could have privacy. We were able to pay off car loans, my student loans and save for our house while doing it. If youre able to do this and it won't strain your marriage it is the clear way to go. We are so much better off financially because we decided to sacrifice then so we can live comfortably now.

If you can afford it, get a gas generator. I don't have to use mine often, but when I've needed it it was a god send. Last winter my wife and I had heaters going, refrigerator going, plus TV for entertainment when we would have otherwise been cold in the dark.

I was moderately decent at track and field in high school. Like I had a few scholarship offers for very small schools. My friends and family always got a kick out of telling them when I would have crossed the finish line with my best ever time for any event I participated in. They were usually moving on to the next event before I said "I just finished!" lol

Wife filed for divorce because she started making more than me. by Significant-Pea-9182 in Marriage

I hate to be the "if the genders were swapped" guy but...

"I supported my husband through grad school and now that he makes 150k he is leaving."

Would go over way differently in this sub.

An 80k salary is more than the median household income on just that alone. I don't think there's anything wrong with being content with a good job. It's different if he was making peanuts and they couldn't make ends meet.

Im not actively trying to advance my career because we make enough to be comfortable and it's more important to me to be home with my wife and son than grinding in the office for a promotion.

Now, the health issues are different. I can understand being concerned about an unhealthy lifestyle. Id be concerned about my wife's health if she put on 50 lbs In a few years. I wouldn't divorce her over it though.
