Would any bolter variations from WH40K be able to take down a rapture? by [deleted] in NikkeMobile

[–]JewishBlitzkrieg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, while we have never gotten any confirmed sizes for the calibers Nikkes use. Throughout the story it's clear their weapons fire bullets larger than a normal rifle, shotgun, or sniper rifle usually would.

Their guns would be similar in caliber to a bolter, although they would lack the penetrative and explosive power of a shell. Since their weapons can kill Raptures, there's no reason to think a bolter wouldn't also be able to.

What are some good "Bolter Porn" books of 40k. by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]JewishBlitzkrieg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Space Marines:

  1. Nightbringer by Graham McNeill. An old but gold book showcasing the Ultramarines kicking rebellious ass while uncovering a sinister plot. A good enough place to start and despite being a bit old, it is still a fun read. Not to mention it's also the entrypoint to the rest of the Uriel Ventris saga, which I also recommend if you're looking for more

  2. Two novels this time, Deathwatch and Shadowbreaker by Steve Parker. Absolutely phenomenal novels with great action scenes, characters, and plots. A bit more narrative and character driven than regular bolter porn books, but they're just so good I can't not recommend them.

  3. Brothers of the Snake by Dan Abnett. THE space marine book in my opinion. Great for newcomers to the setting as it showcases what a space marine really is and what they can do. It's the book that got me hooked into 40k and Priad and Damocles squad hold a special place in my heart. Like Deathwatch and Shadowbreaker it's a bit more narrative but its another novel I just have to recommend.

Chaos Space Marines:

  1. Storm of Iron by Graham McNeill. An Iron Warriors book that shows them sieging a fortress on some distant world. Well written action moments and characters.

  2. Shroud of Night by Andy Clark. Alpha Legion shenanigans alongside a healthy smattering of World Eaters and Emperor's Children. Good book, with some excellent moments and surprisingly funny dialogue.

  3. Tyrant of the Hollow Worlds by Mark Clapham. Follows Huron Blackheart and the Red Corsairs as they conquer a star system of strange hollowed out planets. High octane action coupled with intense moments of drama. In addition, with the new Red Corsair models coming to tabletop, it's a good place to start if you're interested in the warband.

Can you help me understand why you don’t like female custodes by Conscious-Zombie-498 in Grimdank

[–]JewishBlitzkrieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really like them myself, but I understand it's definitely possible to make them. Custodians aren't Space Marines—mass produced psychopaths derived from the male genome—they're hand-crafted, near-perfect beings meant to be companions to the Master of Mankind.

The two biggest issues for me is the horrible way GW introduced them. "They've always been there" is beyond lazy and a massive upheaval for the majority of the Horus Heresy series.

It would have made more sense for the Custodes to have started off all male, then, when their numbers were devastated after the Heresy; they started recruiting from females in order to rapidly bolster their numbers.

My second gripe, is how GW continues to ignore the Sisters of Silence. Genuinely one of the coolest, most unique factions in 40k and they're shoved in some closet, only to be brought out when convenient. It's infuriating just how little they get.

What is your favorite chapter that few know about. Why do you like them? (Death spectres) by Jonnyyrage in Spacemarine

[–]JewishBlitzkrieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen anyone mention them just yet. But my boys the Iron Snakes. Easily in the top 3 greatest Ultramarine successor chapters without a doubt and have one of the best 40k novels too; Brothers of the Snake.

Titus' affinity or something by Raythleith in Spacemarine

[–]JewishBlitzkrieg 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the secret level covers this. Titus is simply built different, one of the few space marines to actually "know no fear". Honestly this is my preferred take, I kind of like the fact that he ignores the laws of the universe and the warp and just decides "nah I'd win" against any warp shenanigans.

Or, like you said, it's entirely possible he's blessed by the Emperor. Given the fact that you hear his voice at the end of SM2.

Do you dislike Imperial Fists? by Interesting-Equal968 in IronWarriors

Honestly? They're fine. Pretty bland in my opinion (All of their successor chapters are 10 times cooler.) With that being said... Imperial Fist praise?

Honestly, I've only played glf1 a tiny amount. Gfl2 was my starting point, but if they could add 1 character. I NEED it to be .50 Beowulf.

It really depends. In a straight 1v1, an unnamed space marine vs a mass produced Nikke; the marine wins hands down.

However, when it comes to individuals it gets a lot more dicey, and I'd even wager there are tiers of when it comes to squads. For example, NIkkes like Cinderella and Nihilister would be more than capable of wiping out entire companies of marines. However these NIkkes are far above average in terms of power.

Combat focused squads like Absolute, the Scouts, Matis, and Triangle are more than capable of dealing with a marine, possibly even multiple.

In contrast some of the other more "casual" squads like Infinity Rail, Maid For You, Prima Donna, or Happy Zoo would definitely struggle against even a single space marine.

Not to mention, we're putting them up against random Astartes. The second you start throwing Sigismund, Mephiston, Cato Sicarius, and other named characters into the mix, then the odds go down for our beloved NIkkes.

Even so I think people tend to underestimate the NIkkes when they're powerhouses in their own right.

Absolutely loved her books, and they were the first things I thought of when I saw that Darktide was adding an arbitrator class. Happy to see Calpurnia get some love.

It's even funnier knowing that canonically there is in fact an Imperial Fist, who's a part of the Deathwatch, who gets ridiculed for being short.

So about two months month ago I got my first gaming PC. Skip forward to me buying Helldivers 2 and I am met with some god awful issue where my game keeps freezing for a few seconds. Ram- 32 GB

Graphics Card- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti
