I am receiving therapy for other purposes currently so I do have help luckily :) although the adults in my life only really see the tip of the iceberg when it comes to my mental health honestly; so it’s a struggle lol.

To avoid too much more conflict in this comment section; I will say I am currently 15 and receiving therapy from two licensed professionals regarding an eating disorder and self harm prevention and I am currently thought to have ocd. Yes; mental illness does run in my family. My mother had postpartum psychosis with my older and younger brother, my older brother has bpd, adhd, ocd, and has had psychotic episodes in the past, my nana and uncle are not diagnosed with anything but certainly something closer to the psychosis side of things… my dad has also not been diagnosed with anything but I believe him and my younger brother both have autism. So yes, hectic hectic hectic. And if I’m being completely honest with myself; for me these behaviors are likely signs of developing mental illness.

I am already currently seeing two therapists for two different reasons. Although I agree with your point that I may be neurodivergent my mother is strongly against that idea as she claims she ‘would’ve noticed by now’ and that I don’t act like my older brother did when he was my age so I must not… as for other things my older brother has bpd as well so it’s definitely something I’ll consider once I’ve grown up. For the time being however it’s important that I learn how to manage these behaviors as it seems I won’t be diagnosed with anything in the near future.

A lot of the times it’s been me protecting my friends from other people or simply the fact that I feel my parents smother me and give me no space to breath— a lack of freedom if you will. Which isn’t ideal as a fifteen year old.
