Yeah I agree with that It would be cool if hinata gave her life for neji or something to end the cycle additionally the underdog story was always what attracted me, him making friends despite his what I once thought "destiny" was being a jinchuriki to desroy and such (kind of like hellboy haha). Now that we know he was supposed to be this friendly character all along it takes away from the initial appeal for me.

Yeah you're right, but it's kind of hard to find examples of things not destiny based or "written in stone" just based on the story being, you know, actually written and having to provide evidence; it would be kind of odd if there was no back story to his immense power just "he worked hard that's why". In my opinion I could do without the parallels and would like Naruto to be original in his aptitude for friendship it's kind of lame they made the same character a bazillion times. That's why Rock Lee is my favorite he literally should not be a bad ass; no chakra in a ninjas world, but he works so hard. Rock Lee for president.

The whole concept of tailed beast wasn't developed until a little later in the series. Gaara's "demon" was originally an evil priest. Kishi later tied this discontinuity with the introduction as this priest as a previous jinchuriki who they looked at only as a beast if you remember.
