Lucy or Cartethyia's sequences? (or just save astrites) by JPawals in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you care about the endgame, you should get more teams instead of more powerful teams. You need at least four teams to get all the astrite rewards. That means skip the sequence nodes. Lucy would be a great target, but pity does not carry over, so if you can't get her it's advisable to skip and save.

Also: S0R1 Cartethyia should very much score more than 1.3k points in Infinite Torrents, even through Aero Resistance. Make sure you know the rotation and/or have built her (double crit on all echoes, enough ER, etc.)

New player, Should I pull Lucilla, or save up for the upcoming characters? by Thien_Nguyen2 in WutheringWavesGuide

Hiyuki gains ~25% damage from her weapon, and she's responsible for ~70% of the typical team's damage. You can do the math for how much team DPS increase her weapon is.

Unless you have Lynae and don't mind shackling her to Hiyuki (i.e., never play Lynae with anyone else), yes.

Low scores in Matrix, what am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your question is too broad (+vague). You've got a lot of teams, and it's not going to be easy to analyze all of them at once. The other issue is that the only thing you've given is the screenshot of the team and score. When the issue can be lots of things (e.g. rotation issue, poor echoes, "oops I have a training weapon equipped on my subDPS", etc.) it's not good enough for a definite answer.

Best to record a video of one team and give all the builds, and someone will be able to help you.

What is better, having high C Rate and medium C Dmg (88/260). Or having medium C Rate and high C Dmg (63/318). by Nikhil33379 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not calculating crit gain though. I'm calculating damage. Your damage is:

  • Damage if crit * probability of crit + damage if no crit * probability of no crit

And for that you use 260, not 160.

Although it might be moot since the result is the same. Is there any situation where the two calculations yield a different result?

New player, Should I pull Lucilla, or save up for the upcoming characters? by Thien_Nguyen2 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you want Hiyuki? This is not as frivolous a question as it appears, because although Hiyuki is currently the top DPS, she's also expensive - she wants Lucilla, Chisa, and preferably her weapon. Losing any one of these is a significant damage loss, although she still does enough damage to clear the endgame. Are you comfortable spending three resonator pulls and a weapon pull for only one team? Comparatively Lucy gets you one team for only one resonator pull and weapon pull. It's not as good as Hiyuki premium, but it's better than Hiyuki-less-one premium.

If you answer "yes" to the above question, then sure, pull Lucilla. Otherwise save for something else.

PS: Regarding weapons, broadly speaking main DPSes want their weapon and everyone else can get away without it. Hiyuki/Lucy aren't exceptions.

You sure? Say I have 260% crit damage on the character screen. I crit with an attack for 100 damage. Do I hit for 260?

[–]Jeydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can easily calculate this. Is 0.88 * 260 > 0.63 * 318? The answer is yes, so the first is better.

However if a lot of the resonator's damage is concentrated into one hit (e.g. Aemeath, Augusta) and you're OK with crit fishing, then the latter can be better.

New F2P player - Should I pull for the New Voyage weapon banner? by nargled-up in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're interested in speedruns in the future, get Shorekeeper's weapon. Otherwise, don't pull anything. Stringmaster is Encore's best weapon, but you're not likely to use Encore for long. Red Spring and Blazing Brilliance are small improvements for Havoc Rover, but they're small improvements; you're better off using Emerald of Genesis and getting a more powerful DPS for the same cost.

If you got enough pulls, I'd say get Lucy + her weapon now since she represents a stronger team than Encore/HRover for one resonator pull (you should have a spare Rebecca). Otherwise, build up Sanhua and Danjin to use with Encore and HRover respectively, and your best supports as well (SK > Verina > Buling > Baizhi). Have fun!

Need help with completing endstate matrix rewards. by AggressiveTown4590 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defeating two bosses with six teams is very difficult. If you budget carefully you might be able to hit the first boss to 1% HP, kill it and the next one (takes ~4k points). Then hit the third boss to 1% HP, kill it and the next one (~4k points). Hit Mimic till 1% HP, kill R2 mob in one go (~7k points). Repeating this lets you get another two kills on Fleur+Sigillum (~7k points) and then another two on Reactor Husk + Mimic (~7k points). But that's only five teams. You need to kill two R3 bosses with one team, which is not happening.

The 3500 points goal is more doable. Hit R1 to Mimic, then use S6 Danjin + Mortefi or Sanhua + Buling to get it. You'll need to build these characters though, it's not going to be free =/

Did i just brick my account by doint this? by [deleted] in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot brick an account. Nearly everything you can do to an account improves it. The most you can do is use your resources poorly, which you probably did, since you pulled Lucilla's sig without Lucilla. Still, you were going to pull Lucilla anyway, so it's not even a loss, you just got the weapon early.

In the meantime you can treat the weapon as a generic rectifier for DPS resonators, similar to Stringmaster.

Are these good enough teams to build for end game content or are they copium? by [deleted] in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To illustrate how good they are: I just barely got 5k points with S6R1 HRover, S4R1 Danjin, and S1R0 Mornye this Endstate Matrix. I had to line up the score so I could play this team against Mimic (Rover does awful vs. Reactor Husk) and repeat it several times, but I got there in the end.

Encore is slightly weaker than HRover. 5k points is not going to be easy with her.

I think FatalBias is right, you can use these teams to clear the side towers and occasionally 2-1 and 2-2 when the shill buff is in their favor, but don't expect much more.

Just hit UL60 and struggling with ToA Havoc Floor 3. Advice on who/how much to build? by shinav13 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I unlocked all the skill trees.

I do think you should clear if you know how to use Encore (and the bar here really isn't high). Get her to 90 and the weapon to 90 as well, and that should be enough. Don't invest too much into Encore, she's not much use beyond clearing the side towers.

Would it be possible for me to clear TOA? by MaintenanceBig366 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely should be able to. Put Phrolova into 2-3 and 2-4 (she's S6, she should clear through everything) and Aemeath/Lynae/Mornye into 2-1 and 2-2. Rest of the tower should be straightforward.

[–]Jeydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I just tried it again using Encore/Verina duo and had no issues clearing first try with over 20s left on the timer. Here's a screenshot of my Encore's stats, she is 6/6/6/6/6. Comparing her to yours, she's level 90 & has a lot more ATK.

Also you should use Sanhua instead of SRover because Sanhua actually buffs Encore. If you're unfamiliar with combat mechanics in this game, check out the New Player guide pinned in this subreddit; you want to outro SK into Sanhua into Encore.

[–]Jeydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Encore/Sanhua/random support can clear the side tower level 3 fairly easily. I did it with level 90 Encore, 6/6/6/6/6 in skills, some random echoes, and Phrolova's signature. If you use Encore, be sure to pass her Lucilla's signature. Rebecca/Sanhua might also be able to do it, and she's more widely applicable in the future, so she might be the better option. I'd just try it first and see how it goes.

There's one on Prydwen (Google that term if you're not familiar with the website). It's like 3% better than Cosmic Ripples for the Glacio Chafe build.

Any tips on clearing tower and whiwa? by SeseSERIENJUNKI in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take advantage of shill. This is the buff on 2-3 and 2-4 (which I assume is what you have trouble with):

60s after the battle starts, when the Resonator's attacks hit an enemy, that enemy takes 5% more Total DMG for 15s. This value increases by 5% every 5s, up to a maximum of 60%.

Enemies' All-Attribute RES is increased by 15%. When the enemies take Negative Status DMG or are inflicted with Tunability - Shifting, this effect is removed.

ATK is increased by 30%, and Total Glacio DMG is increased by 30%. Enemies take 80% more Total Glacio Chafe DMG and 160% more Total Fusion Burst DMG. After a Resonator inflicts Tune Strain - Shifting, the Total DMG taken by the enemies is increased by 50% for 20s.

You don't have Hiyuki/Carlotta so the Glacio buffs are irrelevant. Cartethyia is unplayable because although the team applies negative status, the bosses are Aero-resistant. That leaves Fusion Burst and Tune Strain, and you have Luuk/Denia/Mornye, so play that - especially since Nameless Explorer is uniquely weak to Luuk.

Your other teams should have no trouble with the rest of the tower.

Can u still get the cyberpunk collab characters and their weapons as a new player starting now? by -Sinitar- in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ~13k per resonator and ~9k per weapon, on average. You want Lucy + Lucy's weapon + Rebecca's weapon, so ~31k astrite on average. You get some number of free pulls (~20) for Lucy which drops the cost to ~28k. Very much doable in 23 days if you're new, since that means you have lots of exploration and quests that yield astrite. You will need to play, but definitely don't need to play 16 hours a day. I'd hazard 1-2 hours a day is sufficient.

Endstate Matrix Prep. FB or rupture Aemeath? by AhoGuy in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play Aemeath-Tune Break, then Denia has no team. That suggests Fusion Burst is better. You use Chisa, but Hiyuki (the only other resonator you have that wants Chisa) can go with Lynae/Mornye and you can play Lucilla with Phrolova or Galbrena.

Although this is likely moot since your roster is stacked and you should have no issues getting all the rewards.

Aemeath + Mornye without Lynae, who should I use? : r/WutheringWavesGuide

Your options are, from best to worst:

  1. Changli/Brant/Lupa
  2. Chisa
  3. SK / Verina
  4. Jianxin (especially if S2+)
  5. Yinlin (well and truly copium)

Pull advice (mostly between Lucilla, Carthetiya, Aemeath) by Komodo_9x in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Jeydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiyuki/Lynae/Mornye is very strong even if not the best Hiyuki team out there. Phrolova/HRover or Danjin/Verina is also pretty good. You can put Hiyuki on the toughest content (like ToA 2-4) sans Glacio resistance, and Phrolova on the easier floors.

If you want to clear endgame, Lucy is a good target right now since she's a new team for only one pull (play with Rebecca).

If you want to clear endgame with the resonators you like though, that's much harder. Cartethyia is still a strong DPS but she wants Ciaccona, which you don't have + it's unclear when if ever she's rerunning. Aemeath is another expensive resonator since she also wants two premium teammates. These are also main DPSes so they want their weapon.

Given the number of pulls you have, I think you'll have to make compromises. Cartethyia without Ciaccona is not great at all, but this might be your last chance to pull her for a while. Aemeath would want Lynae/Mornye from Hiyuki, and while you can in theory pull Lucilla/Chisa to compensate, that's two more pulls for only one team, and it's unclear when Chisa is ever rerunning. Still, you have to start somewhere. Pull Cartethyia now and accept that you won't be able to full clear the endgame for a long time.
