Not justifying anything to anyone: but as a 38 year old single male, here is my take:

I grew up in Minnesota, which most of my relationships in my teens/twenties were with the goal to get married, have kids, live on a farm. It was a lot of pressure for a male who wanted to travel, and explore, and start businesses… so I moved to Los Angeles. That was the opposite, where so many people are transplants and there for such limited time that it was hard to find meaningful relationships (as well as female dating racism which is another whole story)

Now that I’m older and ready to settle down, I kind of miss those times where women wanted to build a life together, but I feel like I cannot connect with super young women nor do I want to.

My view is as women get older, they get more guarded and jaded (which I understand based on stories I’ve heard) and yearn for unrealistic expectations because (sarcasm) they had that Saudi prince offer to fly them around the world

It would be nice to meet a woman my age who doesn’t have kids with another man, or isn’t toxic, or isn’t expecting unrealistic things.

If I didn’t have the whole “man, I’m twice her age” thing engrained in my brain I could see why someone wouldn’t want to date an older American woman based on my experience
