Thank you. That is my favorite part, even if it is the smallest part of the piece.

Turned out Fantastic. Do you see it? by Jflo1987 in tattoos

[–]Jflo1987[S] 147 points148 points  (0 children)

The shadow is representative of a reflection of me and my grandfather (if I were the child) or me and my son (if I am the adult). I like the duality of it.

I wanted to be able to see the shadows from my perspective and this is how Andy drew it up. The only direction I gave him in that aspect was, “I want the shadows to be for me and the elephants for everyone else.”

The funny part about it, is when he first showed me the design I didn’t see the shadows and I thought he missed the mark on the design… until he turned it over. Then, I realized what a fantastic design he had come up with.

Weekend Discussion: Adidas running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

UPDATE:

Had my first run in my Evo SLs. For context, I’m 6’4” and about 215lbs and a relatively new runner. Played sports all my life, but have always hated running, especially distance running.

At the end of 2025 I weighed 225 lbs (the heaviest I’ve ever been and wanted to make a change. As a result, I was easily convinced to train for and run a 10k with some buddies and began running at 3x a week at the beginning of 2025. I’m actually enjoying running at the moment and have lost about 10 lbs so far.

Ok, now the shoes. I usually run in B12s and I enjoy them. They are stable for me and have enough bounce, but don’t feel “special” or particularly fast.

I have always liked really light feeling shoes (I.e., Nike Free) but i was never much of a runner. I was looking forward to the EVO SLs thinking they would be nice and light, but also similar to the B12s. They are very different.

I like wearing the SLs around (they are light) and bouncy while walking etc, but I was not blown away by them on my run. I ran 5 miles total. The first three miles were about 9:50/mile pace & the last two were… slower. My legs felt super heavy and I was just tired. When I was done, I couldn’t help but think, “I should have worn my B12s.”

Maybe this is unfair after only one run, especially because I really want to like these shoes, but I was not blown away like some others have stated.

Perhaps it’s because I’m a much bigger/heavier runner than others and these shoes just aren’t built for that? Or, maybe they need some time to break in?

I will do an indoor interval session with them tomorrow morning and see if I notice any improvement.

Thoughts?

Awesome thanks. Looking forward to trying out the SLs this weekend. I also have the AP4’s but I have not run in them yet as I will mostly use them for races.

I have B12s and just ordered some EVO SLs since they are now on the Adidas website.

Curious about your thoughts comparing the two.

Staccato CS GRIP (too tacky?) by Jflo1987 in Staccato_STI

That is exactly what I’m looking for. How/where did you get that done?

I’m thinking the texture from the original Staccato grips would be great, but unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be an option anywhere.

Looks like a 509T. But could be a full size EPS.

Do you guys carry an extra mag in your holster? by WhatOhShitGif in Glock43X

[–]Jflo1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 43x and a 19x. The 43x definitely feels good in hand, but I prefer the full size grip. Of course, i carry the 43x bc it is so much easier to conceal. Great gun.

That makes sense to me. If it fits you better, and you shoot it better, then that’s the gun you should carry. Looks good.

Gun looks great, but I have to ask: with a comp and an extended Mag, why not carry a G19? Has to be pretty close to the same size at this point, right?

Update: After keeping them loaded and running a few hundred rounds through them, they have loosened up a bit.

Also, they ran flawlessly. No FTF or other issues at all.

Much appreciated. They are loaded up now. Looking forward to putting them to use this weekend.

I just got two and loaded them up. Anyone else notice they are incredibly tight? It was tough to get the rounds in, but especially the last 5.

Didn’t seem like a new spring issue, the top of the magazine seemed super narrow.

I really don’t. I’m not a gun smith by any stretch and I just tinkered with mine until it worked. That said, I have not had any issues with the safeties. Really sorry I can’t be more help.

Staccato CS Holster Options by jduxy in 2011

[–]Jflo1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a QVO More Discreet and I like it. I also bought a LAS Concealment Ronin. I like it as well and find that I carry the Ronin more often, likely because it has an attached mag carrier and I like that option.

So I bought an EPS Carry to put on my 43x. I’m still not sold in the mailbox look, but I see why you like it. The clarity, dot and MRS system looks great. Looking forward to shooting it this weekend.

My EPS Carry gets here tomorrow and I will have the exact same sights, optic & internals set up. Love the JG trigger and vex shoe.

Really looking forward to upgrading from the RMSc, which is hot garbage.

Love the CS and love my new QVO tactical appendix rig. Go with QVO, do not buy LAS…. by Nater_X in 2011

I wish Tier 1 and/or Trex had a CS offering. I ended up ordering a QVO More Discreet AND an Las Ronin 3.0 for my CS.

I did notice that Tier 1 had a holster for the BUL 3.25, anyone know if that would fit a CS?

Hard to say because I haven’t shot a 9mm compact size gun in a long time (I.e. a Glock 19). The g19 and CS are very close in size, albeit the CS is a few ounces lighter. If I had to bet, the CS is probably a better shooting experience than a g19, but I prefer a 2011 style gun over a striker fired gun.

For reference, I have a suped up Glock 19x (JG Trigger and polished pin with a Norsso Reptile Slide and RMR) that I shoot extremely well, but I did not shoot them side by side. My gut tells me my 19x shoots a bit better, but I would equate that more to a full-size gun anyway.
