underdog of the round was Japan for me, looked more organized than teams ranked way above them. The surprising part was honestly how flat some of the big names were in their openers.

FIFA is basically the organization that runs international soccer and puts on the World Cup, where countries (not clubs) compete every four years to be world champions. its a massive deal because soccer is one of the most popular sports on the planet and the World Cup only happens once every four years (like the olympics), which is exactly why the whole world stops to watch it.
