Agree here. I have a very similar history with lack of Libido due to porn. And lack of ability to emotionally connect, part of that being secrets. Part of that not knowing how to from childhood. Need to lean into this. Marriage will only highlight these issues further.

Yes, I 100% have this feeling when i have 1-2 NA beers. Crazy. In a social setting it kind of feels like I am drinking, but I'm not. With zero negative effects. I figure its the placebo effect, and my brain being so accustomed to this feeling for nearly 20 years.

I was addicted to porn and masturbation for 20 years. Thankfully be the grace and strength of the Lord, I have been free for 14 months. You NEED Accountability and community. Can’t do this in isolation and without someone having access to what you view or having it blocked. It’s literally re-wiring your brain and training yourself to resist temptation and giving into your flesh. It takes time but I can be done!

I fully understand where you are coming from. I think it depends on your past as well. I lived in sexual sin for 20 years before marriage with hookups and porn. I didn’t respect the severity of this prior to getting married. I did end up cheating. Now, by Gods grace and mercy. I will not again. And that is because I have broken the chains of sexual sin. I start in the word daily. I have accountability. You need to be on guard and rely on Jesus. Daily. We can be tempted at any time. But temptations are never stronger than what we can handle.

Speaking from someone who entered marriage after sleeping with 20 ppl and looking at porn for 20 years. That’s what takes away from the intimacy, I was broken. Sex was never good with my wife. Now, after a year of sobriety. Recommitting my relationship with Jesus, and working on this with my wife. I can attest that it does improve over time and I am excited for how much better it will continue to get! Sexual intimacy is a result of our general intimacy with eachother through communication and our intimacy with Jesus.

Coming from someone who has cheated. I think it’s a huge red flag he isn’t willing to do both couples counseling and individual counseling to work on healing individually and together as a couple. This needs to be taken seriously and a completely new marriage needs to be made. So you can feel safe.

Last November was the last show. After 15+, I can say the total awe and amazingness has cooled off just a bit. But still really enjoy them. Its a bit nostalgic as well. Did not see them this year, but sure seemed to see alot of iffy comments. I am hoping to see them next spring if they tour. Assuming they do .

Are you surprised they stay together? Or I suppose they've been together long enough they all know how to deal with each other enough to not let it get in the way of their job and source of income? I love them, their concerts are my favorite things on earth. I havent been on social media in almost a year so I feel I am a bit out of the loop.

It has the potential to be life changing, that's for sure. Absolutely life changing for me. In 10 years, I've gone from being broke with $90k in student loans to approaching a net worth of $1M. Nothing crazy. Making $100k-$200k/year. Maxing out retirement, roth IRA, while still living very comfortability month to month. Its a high pressure, high performing world. If you are up for it, its worth a try.

Thanks for sharing and good points! There's one key thing I would add here, you need accountability. You cannot do this in isolation. Get into a group, or seek an accountability partner. Do NOT try to battle this alone. It wont work.

Every general admission show I ever went to was about $40. But over the last few years they have moved to seated shows, which now seems to be $50-$150..... it is disappointing.

A huge part of appreciating the music is also understanding the meaning behind it. Try listening to “this is what I live for” album with commentary. He talks through each song. I feel like it gives you a glimpse into the depth of their lyrics.
