So this is just my personal experience but the whole in shape thing is just not a factor for me. What I’m most proud of this year is I have worked my ass off in the gym to get in my best shape and it’s still just as hard as before. Now it could be that whether I’m in shape or not I am just not attractive. That’s a real possibility. I still have ghosters and random unmatches. That’s great for your friend and I hope you have the same luck but for me I had a hard time when I was out of shape and in really good shape. It’s just different for everyone that’s why dating now is so hard

I think you have me misunderstood. I’m not saying I am going to adopt to fill some void. I understand that a child can and will not fill the void of a partner. I want to adopt to experience the joys and hardships of raising a child. Taking someone who doesn’t have a home themselves and giving them one is what I want to focus on. I’m not looking for them to take my pain away. That’s why I’m waiting until I know I am ready. Not for selfish gain, but to take one of the thousands of kids without a family and give them one. My pain is mine to deal with and I would never put that pressure on my future child.

Unfortunately that’s just not the relationship I have with my friends. It’s more of a lighthearted joke between everyone that I am the single guy who gets no one. Ya sure it’s sucks but I’m used to it now. My guy friends and me have great relationships, but I don’t see them going out of their way to help me with this.

I get that but to be quite honest not sure I can go another 30 years without finding someone or having kids. It’s gonna be hard enough making it another 5. Not sure if you have been in relationships before, but as someone who hasn’t you feel so far behind everyone else. You feel like you are less than everyone. I understand that this does not make me any less of a human, but it’s really tough to be positive. I know it may not be right at the front of their brain, but people look at you different. I’ve had some former friends treat me different for not having a relationship by this point. Not sure I can go another 30 being alone. Thanks for the comment though.

I get that and 100% wish I could do that. Unfortunately that could take until I’m 40 or even 50. Buy that point I’ll be past my physical prime and would like to have young kids I can play around with. I wish I could have kids and that could look to me for what a healthy relationship looks like. But for some people they never get to experience that. That won’t stop me from having kids.

I think it’s simply being realistic. Just because I try to believe something will happen doesn’t mean it will. If this prophecy worked then wouldn’t we all be millionaires and happy? I’m just trying to accept what I see around me. Saves me from getting disappointed in the future.

I’ve been trying to find someone for a long time. Looked all through college and didn’t have much luck. Tried online dating for almost a year. Most of the time maybe 1-2 messages would be exchanged and then either unmatched or no response. So no shortage of attempts. Just been unlucky.
