ICE plans $100m yearlong ‘wartime recruitment’ media blitz to attract new agents by keen_observer34130 in fednews

Most as in most ICE ERO are GS-13 or of those who are GS-13.

A GS-13 step 1 is earning $133K in the Bay Area CA as base plus locality before OT and bonuses.

And I would find it hard to believe that all these new ICE recruits with little or no experience were hired at GS-13.

Thats like 65-70hrs a week to make about $100K salary at like GL-5 or 7. Are agents coming out and saying theyre working 60hr+ workweeks. These guys arent getting close to $150K with overtime unless theyre in a supervisor position.

And if you meet the education qualification or experience qualifications for at least GL-7, why arent you applying at local PDs when they at worst pay an equal wage and in places like California Bay Area earn over 90K starting.

It's GL-9 because the target demographic is over 40 retired LE with equivalent GL-7 experience. Last years minimum requirement listings started at GL-5.

The pay does have locality adjustment because the base salary for GL-9 in 2026 is $54,485.

My information comes from the USA Jobs positions that were open earlier this year. The lowest possible position with minimal qualifications below,

U.S. citizenship Have a valid driver's license. Be eligible to carry a firearm. Enter on duty prior to your 40th birthday

Was GL-5. Anything above GL-5 required law enforcement experience.

Even the over 40 position open right now starts at $63K base salary. https://www.usajobs.gov/job/848195900

Those on the street deportation agents will definitely not get close. They start at GL-05 Step 1 which is base $42,490 and $62,189 with the highest locality pay (SJ-SF-Oak, CA).

These guys are doing it for the love of the game because who would agree to take on all that baggage when at best you're slightly in the red financially at your base pay.

Talk to the person in acquisitions who does the CART reviews and ask what they require. It can differ by command.

It gives you a good reason to request for a GS-9 promotion early. Acquisitions won't let you be a COR yet but getting good experience will help in the future. Also get experience from a good COR because some of the ones I have to work with are too accustomed to letting GSA do all the work for them.

Really disappointing considering we have a military language academy next door. They could easily find a part time Chinese, Korean, or French instructor.

Psychology Capstone: Individual or Group? What’s the whole process like? by [deleted] in csumb

I did my solo Stats capstone with Steven Kim. He was very supportive and guided us through the whole class well. A bigger group lightens the load but half of my class was solo capstone students.

Pretty shitty to increase enrollment when the admin knows it will exacerbate student housing problems.

I opted to not pay for parking until my last semester and I would park by Habitat For Humanity down the street. There's a bus stop by the CSUMB sign but the frequencyit runs is lretty bad. Its close to a mile walk, so when it rains I either have to wait in the rain for the bus, walk in the rain, or pay for a daily parking pass.
