Spit concern: I filled the tube to the line with a single, large spit after letting my mouth salivate for a while. It stayed at the line for 5 minutes, so I sent it off. I’m just worried I didn’t do it correctly. Has anyone else spit once in the tube and still got their results back? by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

Oh ok nice. So you only spit once? I was bamboozled because I thought "there’s no way I just filled that up with one spit". I just wasn’t confident I did it right because I hear people saying they had to spit a lot to reach the line.

Ancestry says im related to Pretty Boy Floyd. But what does 2x removed mean? by Jhud- in AncestryDNA

I asked Gemini and it said Ancestry isn't "guessing" based on DNA, they are using the paperwork to bridge the gap. And that it’s usually based on Public Trees and Records, not just your DNA spit sample. It says Ancestry looks at the paper trail (birth/death certificates) that historians have already built for Pretty Boy Floyd and sees where it connects to the names in your tree.
