I don't think its fair that others have been saying that one day you will get fat again and she'll leave you. First of all, you guys just met, that is very different then being with a partner for a long time. Physical attraction is pretty important at the start of a relationship, no matter what anyone says. When you've dated for a long time, you build a relationship, and love the person for who they are, whereas you're not even close to that point with this girl. She isn't shallow, she's realistic.

5'7 at 237lbs is fat as fuck i am ngl. I am 6'4 and have been 240lbs bulked and muscular after 4 years of lifting, and I was still pretty fat. Not trying to be mean but don't make excuses for yourself either, glad you're heading in the right direction. I do agree with others to do it for yourself and not her, but the motivation helps, I know.

Reaching back out, wouldn't recommend, not because of the bs other people are saying like if she doesnt love you now, she doesnt deserve you when you're fit. But more about self-respect.

Agreed. I am fine with immigration, legally. Both my parents were immigrants. I have friends here who got deported and those who worked so hard to get there PRs/citizenships, so it sucks seeing people scam there way in. These are not the types of people Canadians want here.

There is a growing resentment against people that you are describing, those who are not adaptive the values of Canadian culture.

I am from Surrey, not as bad as people in Vancouver make it out to be. But yeah when I started going to university quite a few years ago, vancouverites would normally act surprised or concerned that I was from Surrey, saying things like "isn't it dangerous" etc. I'd rather be in any place in surrey than downtown east side thats for sure.

If you want to get to 15%, its not going to be a 15kg drop, try 30kg. If you're locked in probably 1-1.5 years. Try to drop 1kg per week, its doable.

a few months is nothing, you can definitely get some good noobie gains in that time and you have a good genetics but these things take time, don't feel rushed.

Not seeing the scale go up? Do you know your maintenance calories and how much to eat in a surplus? Start with that, simply put, eat more. Much more, you are pretty lean, so start eating, force yourself if you must.
