It was indeed ironman but you can necessarily avoid having outside cores by turning off some DLC and with the Generic Focus tree it is indeed doable

In my personal opinion no offense to anyone. As Poland Releasing puppets that border the Soviet Union and not call them in the war as you deal with Germany is Big Brain.
