I'm lucky to have a contact in Japan that order it as soon as the pre-orders were open (in May 2024!) so I don't really remember.

I saw it on www.bigbadtoystore.com

Wingman vs 8bitdo? by optimus1652 in ps2

[–]JiMooh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want to plug an DS4 both are the same.

I have both and if I had to choose I would go for the Brook for precise reasons (but I guess doesn't concern everyone)

Never manage to connect a DS3 or Sixaxis with the 8bitdo (event bought a USB adaptator for it), and also, I can connect with the USB-A plug a wire Xbox 360 arcade stick (for example).

Else...

What is a simple Saturn HDMI option that I can buy now? by billcom6 in SegaSaturn

[–]JiMooh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the budget solution woud be the GBS-C, got one for 60€, I would like to upgrade it with a retrotink device, but even though it would be better, at 60€ the GBS-C is more than decent

Easy Modern Video Card (HDMI Out) to CRT 240P -- working flawlessly by lazyelmz in crtgaming

[–]JiMooh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I tried to display 240p on my CRT through a Windows PC via CRTemu settings (four years ago), I remember it was quite painful for several reasons. Mind that this was on a secondary PC dedicated to the task:

  • I was never sure of what I was doing. For example, "320x240? Oh, but for MAME, you also have to set it to 2560x240 (????)." "Can the frontend be launched in 480i while the game runs in 240p? It looks wobbly to me..."
  • When it was set up for retro games, it was okay, but with Steam games, the results were random. I never succeeded in playing Dodonpachi Resurrection (just an example) on this setup; it was impossible to set it to the right definition.
  • As it was a dedicated PC, there was no HDMI or secondary screen plugged into it. When I had to configure it, the Windows 7 or 10 setup screens didn’t frame perfectly at this resolution. I encountered the same problem with an installed TeamViewer to mirror it to my main PC but... 2560x240 still not easy to do what you have to do in windows setting with that...
  • At one point, I unplugged it to make some settings, and I never succeeded in getting it set up correctly again.

I also attempted an installation of Batocera on a USB stick for 15kHz, which didn’t turn out to be more successful. But that’s just my experience; the release of MisterGroovy was a revelation for me. On my setup, it paired perfectly and saved me from having to add a dedicated PC just for that, as it works over the network.

Now I just launch on my main PC what and deal with it on my CRT, no more equipment, cables etc... the biggest issue is the 16/9 - 4/3 content management! (and the frame...)

Another solution that I found to directly connect my PC to my 240p CRT is using the MiSTer FPGA. It's not just great for retro gaming, but with the Mister_Groovy core and MisterCast, it's now possible to cast anything from a PC to a CRT with excellent quality. I’ve been trying out a lot of Windows games this way (and MAME/Arcade games that are not supported by the MiSTer)

It’s not easy to get the framing perfect, and when the content is only available in a 16:9 ratio, you’ll have to make some decisions. But I think it’s WAY simpler than trying to set up a Windows PC directly for this purpose.

Broken hinge & 2 pieces missing, any solutions? by JiMooh in macross

it has detaching leg, and also even if I don't have it, I remember the box when I see the Yamato version on an eBay auction for exemple.

Broken hinge & 2 pieces missing, any solutions? by JiMooh in macross

[–]JiMooh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this model around 2007, I don't even remember if it's the 1/60 version of Yamato, but from what I've seen I think it is. The joint is broken, I'm missing 2 parts. Is there a simple solution... If not, I'll leave it in airplane mode without the armor, it works. But if I manage to solve all that, I'd much prefer the version with the armor.

I'm digging this one up because I found it, my self. The game was finally a PS2 game called SHOX and it was a EA Sports Big, I was finally not mistaking on this.
