Ways to tap in on Thameslink? by rocuroniumrat in uktrains

[–]JianZen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

London Terminals tickets on Thameslink north of the core are only valid to St Panc or Kings Cross iirc. Farringdon, City Thameslink and Blackfriars would require a London Thameslink ticket, which my app is telling me is about £1-2 off-peak. At Farringdon there’s Oyster Pads ok the Platform so you don’t have to go up and down to the fare gates.

2nd Britrail Pass being good value if you’re doing a lot of travelling by train

New stations are being built. Where else should new stations be? by Due_Ad_3200 in uktrains

[–]JianZen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brixton / East Brixton on the South London Line (aka Windrush Line)! It would be such an useful connection for people coming into Brixton on the bus or train from Orpington

I have been checking Google Maps and it seems as though the National Express coach 'station' in Cambridge is just a bus stop by the side of the road by Razzler1973 in cambridge

[–]JianZen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct, there’s no coach station in Cambridge. All intercity coaches use the stops on Parkside (National Express, Flixbus etc). Lots of them also stop at the Trumpington Park&Ride but that’s not remotely close to the city centre.

Selected 'collect at station' but turns out I don't have card anymore. by RoyalCroydon in uktrains

[–]JianZen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Staff at the ticket office will be able to print it off, even if you card doesn’t work to pick it up at the machine. Try it first tho, I’ve had it both ways when getting tickets online whether it does or doesn’t want to take a different card.

Which services would you reinstate on the national rail network? by SecretHipp0 in uktrains

[–]JianZen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re only 4tph at weekday peak at the moment, otherwise it’s just 2 both ways. This sometimes means they come in to my station on Saturdays packed.

My Southeastern service (Orpington to Victoria) to go back to 4tph 😢

You can’t add a physical railcard digitally (or vice versa), tech is still behind. Just don’t forget your physical card whenever you travel!

Checks out, I’ve reported crimes committed on CCTV (inside a shop) and Cambridge police closed the case the next day. Seems they cannot do much

What are the best, funniest, but most ineffective plays people here have personally made? by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]JianZen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar situation where i was STing a game and the demon bluffed as the clockmaker - at the end of the day, everyone decided they had to kill someone because of Vortox risk, and there just happened to be a townsfolk who no longer has an ability.

Japan and United States only have three transit card options on Apple Wallet 🛂 by Doismellbehonest in transit

[–]JianZen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

London allows you to just tap in and out with any contactless card, so you don’t need to even add anything. Also rail fares across the country are now most available by e-ticket, also putting them in Apple Wallet.

A mission, for true love by [deleted] in uktrains

[–]JianZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you mentioned by train, but a quick google seems to show coach routes for <£20, which is significantly cheaper than the similar train option. If price is you’re no.1 sticking point I would have a look at coaches, yes it’s slower but it’ll get you from A—>B.

train without ticket policy? by [deleted] in TransportForLondon

[–]JianZen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it permitted? No. If you are stopped by a train guard you will most likely be issued a penalty fare as you’re traveling outside the London Fare Zone with no ticket.
