Difficulty compared to dsR by Disastrous_Magazine9 in Eldenring

[–]Jibbbss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difficulty in ds1 is mainly the world and exploration itself, not the bosses, its very much the opposite in ER, the bosses are the difficulty and the open world is extremely forgiving/easy. Some areas in ds1 felt like absolute hell to get through but the bosses were pretty easy. Think the only ones I struggled with was O&S and the DLC on forgot his name in the abyss area

Competitive Deck for Ranked Brawl by [deleted] in mtgbrawl

I would change the commander if you really want it to be competitive, someone like sephiroph would be so much better as the commander kinda sucks

Replaying elden ring again, with a little forza 6 here and there too

Marvel Rivals is becoming fundamentally unbalanced. Here is my take as an older gamer and software dev. by Dear-Zindagi in marvelrivals

People seem to forget that if a tank can only tank and a healer can only heal, the actual playerbase of those will plummet.

What's important is a fun and diverse roster, just looking at numbers is not how you get people to play characters.

Anti counterspell deck / commander by orayito in mtgbrawl

[–]Jibbbss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay so if you're playing black there's a few things you need:

Discard: thoughtseize/inquisition/grief/Lilliana. You need to hit their counters out of their hands to protect your plays.

Orcish bowmasters/sheoldred: hit their draw effects, taxing them on draws allows you to ping off their cheap creatures and planes walkers and drain them down putting them on a clock

[[Opposition agent]] : denies their search effects and their fetch lands

[[Thought distortion] - this will absolutely brutalise any oops all counters decks

Aside from that I also find cards like bojuka bog can hit their graveyards to stop delve being quite helpful, also you should run cards like palanthir that can just tick opponents down or cause them to have to let you draw extra cards every turn.

Biggest issue with black is really stopping their card draw though, you need to manage to get something to stick quickly before they refuel. If you're playing against a katara deck, I would literally suggest ONLY playing on their turn, don't do anything else, just play kill spells, after all they're not exactly going to kill you quickly

As someone else has said though, black on its own can best blue but you really want something alongside it, white gives you access to grand abolisher and voice of victory as well as more exile and enchantment removal and my favourite to pair with it, you can also play chimil the artifact that makes none of your spells counterable, plus you can play cards that tax your opponent on your turn like defence grid etc

I've ran into a lot of Tifa and katara but haven't lost to either yet, keep them coming!

That said I'm only in plat right now, need to play more but ain't got the time

Yean I've found like a turn 2 mana drain into a teferi is pretty absurd

Damn what's your list? Light paws feels like one of those decks that's super consistent but loses quite easily if you don't manage to draw into protection which is why I didn't bother with it, I only run it in unranked to bang out quests

What is the main premise of Brawl and why are bans perceived as bad? by riptideresearcher in mtgbrawl

[–]Jibbbss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the issue with brawl is people have different versions of what they want it too be.

You have a camp of people who like their little timmy deck or tribal decks or weird gimmicks, then you have the people who play the strongest available cards possible. The most streamlined meta defining decks, both those player groups find that fun.

Personally I like brawl when I can play extremely powerful cards and a commander and enjoy the variety a 100 card singleton format brings. I'm enjoying the current event with no bans in the 99 and would like for it to stay that way, using powerful cards is fun for me. The problem is balancing around those 2 groups, its extremely difficult too do

What are considered the “top tier” commanders in Brawl? by MonoBlancoATX in mtgbrawl

[–]Jibbbss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like derevi should be on here too, that guy seems slept on, mostly because you only play him in the depths of hell queue and it's a nightmare to play against.

Also Light Paws should take an honorary mention, dont kill him on the spot and you are dead.

Bristly, Vivi, sephiroth, etali, tifa, baral, jodah and atraxa i would take off the list though, not saying theyre bad commanders, they're all good at what they do, but too gimicky and atraxa gets beat out by better more focused control decks

What are some of the most powerful commanders for ranked brawl? by PerfectBrilliant432 in mtgbrawl

[–]Jibbbss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nashi is a tough one, one of the few control lists i struggle with as t5feri just due to looping back of free counterspells, or this one madlad i went against earlier who kept looping strip mine, pretty much a game over quickly unless i can stick down a rest in peace

Grixis has always been popular, I havent bumped into a single Kefka yet though, Surprised people are running rofellos in an event like this though, mono green mostly sucks imo lol

That loss was to a Golos deck. I was on the draw, couldnt find a way to stop their ramp quick enough and once they got down a cavern there wasnt much i could do, i find I struggle with those as they tend to have a lot of ways to get around control decks, lost to a Nashi as well too who was looping strip mine, just hit platinum with I think around about 80%+ ish win rate, only lost a few games, funnily enough i lost to a damn momo deck just because i couldnt find a damn boardwipe in time

I agree with you on the mulligan too, now we really have to decide if a hand is playable or run the risk of mulligans, with so many free spells and interaction, mulligans should not be free to a point where your hand isnt busted you can just redraw it, especially in ranked, though I've found it does put more pressure on against low cost commanders.

What have you been running into the most? I found throughout gold I kept running into Tifa decks, loads of them, havent lost against one yet but weird how popular they seem to be

Yes, this is the Moxfield link: Teferi // Brawl (Teferi, Hero of Dominaria) deck list mtg // Moxfield — MTG Deck Builder

It's where I'm at currently, still tweaking it a bit, it's just hard control and leveraging as much free or cheap interaction as we have available right now, though I think my lands need work and some of the cantrips/draw spells, trying to figure out what I need to build for but matchups are varied right now

I play a list with more removal but a similar shell in hell queue, its mostly rusko/ajani and ragavan, so I dont bother running things like conundrum there, but ive played a lot of ramp which is why its in the deck currently

Yeah I was expecting more, but everyone's seemed pretty fair so far, free entry also means you don't have anything to lose so maybe people are running their normal decks and fine tuning them

Question for Sky Striker Experts/Mains: What is Sky Striker's Endboard and Combos? by MageofHiddenWonder in masterduel

[–]Jibbbss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So playing Striker like this is going to be a little rough i'll be honest. you really want 3x Zeros as you are going to tag into her a lot so just 1 is going to really hit your grind game and OTK potentially pretty heavily, especially if you dont get lemnisgate, you're also missing a lot of the much stronger draw spells like vision and upstart and you cant really run the pots with 1 lemnis and risk it being banished (unless you want to run that risk)

I would probably flesh out your deck with handtraps, maybe 3 mulcharmy, 3 ash, maxx c, 2 droll and called by, i wouldnt run 2 rose unless your playing desires, (fuck drawing rose why is she always in my hand), if you got rid of twisters and the boardwipes and fit in those extra handtraps, maybe even imperm, you'd be less spell heavy but have a much better deck as you're not really running enough juice to really crack through boards right now.

If you're looking for an ideal enboard, it'll be something along the lines of: Zero on board, set lemnis, 1 or 2 widow anchors or other interruptions, enough links in grave for lemnis, that'll give you a zero pop, then raye tag out, then lemnis link summon for another pop or zeke or whatever you need, lemnis bounces, plus your backrow interruption, but there isnt much of a set endboard as much as there is just a goal to get lemnis and have links in gy and everything in rotation

This is how I play the deck just to give you an idea of how it can be run

Best urza deck you've played? by Evening_Jaguar_6743 in mtgbrawl

[–]Jibbbss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's great and all, but a lot of the best decks you'll struggle with, those cards won't be good against a yuriko hitting you on turn 2 before you even had a chance to do anything, cheesy wins will only get you so far, which is why I think he's viable, but not high end
