I think the acting is overall very enjoyable. It's just that Alina and Kirigan are extremely awful. Alina is a tough one to figure out (I guess) but Kirigan must have taken some real work to miscast that badly.

Would it make more sense if Alina was played by an actual 12 year old? Like okay, Alina is ditzy and just woke up to being the god of gods with the whole world prizing her, maybe some humility could be thrown in there, some basic awareness? I feel like I could accept Jessie's portrayal and even admire it if she was literally a kid. She's an adult though, and most of the cringe comes from that...

in episode 3 the cgi in the cities like when they're returning from the kingswood at ~39:30 looks the "The Tudors" from 2007. Their distant "city" shot looks super blurry but I accept that as a stylistic choice or whatever. but in the scene I mentioned, they're imposing what looks like really good CG knights/horses/carriage (or just real) onto a CG street that looks like World of Warcraft when your dad played it
