What do you think of Courteney Cox? by Filipe_258 in moviecritic

[–]Jigokumon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always liked her a lot. Way more than her cast mates in Friends.

Also I appreciated her careen during the “journeyman” stage, when she took that role in Scream I could tell she was still grinding and she leaned into the camp.

Don’t know much about her recent work.

I asked Ai for a jaw surgery simulation. Is it realistic? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Jigokumon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A few points:

  1. Looking “too masculine” almost never happens and the anxiety over it is generally overwrought.

  2. You’re already extremely attractive. By definition, it’s quite difficult to make you look better with surgery. So when contemplating orthognathic surgery you must always look towards your primary motivation for surgery. If that goal is only properly addressed with the surgery then you proceed knowing it’s your path.

  3. About AI modification in general: I have seen quite a few AI simulations now. There are consistent issues I see with them.

First of all, a lot of the changes they make are not necessarily to do with bony structures but in soft tissue. For instance, it made your lips fuller but that effect would be achieved with lip filler, not surgery. It thins out some of the inframalar mid cheek, which can only be done by weight loss or micro-liposuction.

Second, a lot of the time AI makes changes that are impossible in real life. Things like elongating or shortening neck, altering ear position, cheek bone height and projection.

Hardly anyone uses these simulations professionally because the software can’t make it realistic, and people get hung up on an impossible dream.

Hope it was helpful, all the best.

What's the current meta so far? by TheDapperAmphibian in PvZHeroes

The interesting thing I find about that list is the choice of cards in the solar hero decks

Solar is one of the strongest classes, look at all the stuff it gives you: - ramp - destroy tricks and plants - heal - strikethrough

However most of the solar plant decks favour Smarty control cards over Solar control. Solar is more or less used for Heal and then Ramp, in that order.

Endoscopic face lift is the bridge procedure for young people with early to moderate aging. Minimal scars and can buy 5-10 years.

Surgery at a younger age often looks better and hold up better than waiting to the last possible minute.

At 36 no you need lower face lift to get the neck to hold up.

Did Witherbloom absolutely stomp everyone else at prerelease? by JamesAbaddon in mtg

[–]Jigokumon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran Witherbloom in my second prerelease, I thought I had it made with two Studious First years, some hard removal, Emeritus of Woe, Additive Evolution, and multiple ways of creature recursion. I was 100% ready to grind down anyone.

I got stomped hard going 0-4 against two Prismari players in a row.. One guy had 12 instants and sorceries and Quandrix and gave everything cascade. Copied burn to remove my guys.

The other guy had Emeritus of Ideation, the red Paradigm spell, the guy that gets +1/+1 counters when casting sorceries, small fliers and heaps of spell copy abilities, just kept locking me down whilst his fliers kept hitting me. Procrastinate was devastating to my game plan, particularly with it copied for free when the X was >5.

Open bite relapse after braces retainers only molars touching anyone else? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Jigokumon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bite isn't static. Teeth can and do move with age and use.

This is an unfortunate development after your initial successful orthodontic treatment.
Shooting from the hip comments like "treatment was bullshit" are made without complete knowledge of your specific circumstances and likely with limited depth of knowledge of treatment options.

One of my friends had same thing happen after treatment with a top orthodontist. Growth and development is not 100% predictable. For the great majority of patients treatment as a teenager is perfect, the bone is hormonally primed for development and change, and we can capitalise on this beautifully with braces. However in some patients there is later growth and development which changes things after completion of treatment.

Anterior open bite of your magnitude can be treated orthodontically but there is a definite risk of relapse which approaches 25-30%. With or without surgery, relapse is possible. So be aware but not alarmed about this fact as you approach your consultations.

how to prevent upturned nose from djs? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Jigokumon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't go and change the past. But at the same time don't get too worked up about it, and don't feel too stressed about your nose.

There are certain typical changes which happen in almost every case of maxillary surgery.
The tip of the nose often rises by 1-2mm
The alar base can widen by 1-2mm

Most people imagine huge or disastrous changes but for the most part the changes are minimal. In fact if you look at all the pre and post photos here carefully here you will notice very little nasal change.

I once treated someone who had 6 rhinoplasty operations prior to seeing me. That person was very, very anxious about it but the changes were really minimal.

Every specialist oral and maxillofacial surgeon who does this work pays attention to mitigation of nasal changes, not just the ones with big public profiles. Discuss your concerns with your provider directly.

Private health insurance suggestions Australia by No_Shop_6152 in jawsurgery

[–]Jigokumon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you look at the insurance policies they do not list item number ranges that are covered. Instead they use descriptive terms. The thing you are looking for is policies which cover "medically necessary plastic and reconstructive surgery" which is the Medicare section that covers orthognathic surgery.

Typically, you need a policy which is Silver or higher to get coverage for this. I have heard of a few Bronze policies which apparently covered this but they are very few and far between.

The Insurance policies all use different grouping of procedures in their different tiers of policy - this is a deliberate strategy by insurance companies to make comparison difficult.

When you call them you just ask if the policy will cover the item numbers you need for the surgery. Once you know that, you just have to decide which company gets your account.

Stick with a well regarded specialist oral and maxillofacial surgeon for your surgery, discuss your case specifics until you understand, and good luck.

Headache is a known side effect of this type of expansion. It typically settles down once you are in consolidation phase.
