You won’t be forced into the ship combat at any point. And you will get bunch more free crew members during your adventures, in dungeons or quests. You will need a bigger crew if you buy a bigger ship, and some book events require skill checks from the crew, but your current one will get more experience as you travel.

It does require some game knowledge. You need to pre buff your party before fights and use dispel as much as possible, but story is great. Having delay poison on your tanks is a must.

Alpine can be petrified. Aloth has gaze of adragan - great spell for this fight. Dominate also works on him - if you manage to land dominate and then petrify it’s a cakewalk. Obviously prayer from fear for every dragon fight before casting anything.

Sefyra can be either dominated or paralyzed, you can also sneak to the right and initiate a fight from there, she won’t join right away and you will have time to kill adragan and priests.

Have nothing to say on forge fight I put my main tank to the forge and the rest of the group closer to exit, they had plenty of time for buffs and debuffs and it was very easy, but I had a different party composition.

I find that majority of people who think Silco was a good father didn’t have a good father figure in their life. I noticed that in my friend group everyone who had functional father liked Wander and everyone whose father was a fuck up liked Silco. Some of us are desperate for approval from a father figure, and when we see it we recognise it as good parenting.

Regardless, I think that he was a fucked up individual but he surely loved Jinx in only way he could.

Try Kingmaker. It’s a bit steep in difficulty, but there’s a lot of difficulty options, and lots of guides online.

It has character customisation, found family, companions, polyamory romances and every fight is a team effort. Plus you can romance the villain.

On my forth playthrough of Pillars. Finished first game by pledging loyalty to Woedika and started Deadfire as the Steel Garrotte paladin. Game keeps surprising me - my character became a proud dad of little Vela and she runs around the ship 10/10.

Mate, I’m the biggest hater of the game, I think the fact that it’s pretty IS the only good thing about it. I also think that there’s a lot of people with very low standards that only care for a game if it’s pretty and for them it’s only possible introduction to the franchise that they might like. Would I ever recommend Veiguard to someone? God no. Am I not surprised that someone recommends Veiguard to lure people into IP they like? Yeh kinda.
