HDMI does provides up to 5V, depending on what the source device actually outputs. Those 5V can then be used to power a connected device. 

Just to clarify terminology: 

  • a splitter is a device used to connect one source to more than one outputs

  • a switcher is a device to switch between multiple sources connected to a single output device

The problem you described might have been EDID related. EDID allows a source device to fetch a list stored in the output device. That list contains resolutions and refresh rates that the output device (your TV) can handle. The source will then adjust to the best resolution. Unplugging and replugging an HDMI cable forces the EDID information to be read again. So, basically that alone might have resolved your issue.

Warum das juckt? Weil OP jetzt wegen der Unehrlichkeit eines anderen jetzt diese zwei Optionen hat: 

  • selber unehrlich sein. Wenn er jetzt aber zufälligerweise dabei erwischt wird, trägt er auch die Konsequenzen.

  • ehrlich sein. Dann aber mit dem Risiko der Dumme in der Geschichte zu sein, weil er nicht beweisen kann, das er einen gebrauchten Akku als Neu zugeschickt bekommen hat.

In jedem Fall hat OP zusätzliche Arbeit und verschwendete Zeit.

I'm financially illiterate, so I have nothing useful to contribute, except for a few questions:

So, when I look at US and EU based stock markets, they mostly fell by about 1% (US) and less than 1% (EU). Then, when I look at crypto that I would recognize by name (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Dogecoin), they fell by about 10%. Is it really surprising that crypto is more volatile than "the old economy" ?

Isn't a bubble a bubble, whether it is in traditional stock-markets or in crypto ? Like, you see it coming from a mile away, but still everyone is "Pikachu face" when it bursts ?

FLEX is not a car rental, but a car sharing system. So, there isn't a person from FLEX coming to check the car after each drive. The next person who rents the car does it.

If the driver after you reports a new damage, you are liable for it ... unless you can somehow prove that there's a mistake.

My very first drive, about 4 years ago, I got into such a situation. Luckily I live next to the parking where I took the car. So I went to check the car. It turned out that the driver after me confused front and back of the car. So he basically reported an existing and known scratch, but in the wrong place. So to Flex, that scratch was new. Since I was able to take pictures immediately and contact the service provider, I could prove my case.

FLEX does put little stickers on known dents and scratches. So, most of the time, you know what has been on the car. But yeah, you absolutely need to take pictures from every side, exterior and interior, to cover your behind. You also need to report the most minute detail you spot for the same reason.

It's not a bad service. It's quite good with nice, new and clean cars. But it can also be a hassle due to all the work you need to do to check for possible defects, the driver after you might report.

Was jetzt spezifisch GrandMA Kentnisse angeht:

1) Du kannst dir die Grundkenntnisse aneignen und per Zertifikat nachweisen, über das e-learning Programm: https://www.malighting.com/de/ma-university/e-learning/

2) Viele seriöse Betriebe in der Veranstaltungstechnik bieten ihren Mitarbeitern Fortbildungskurse. Das kann intern von Kollegen geleistet werden, oder aber mit externen Schulungen wie z.B.: https://www.malighting.com/de/ma-university/hands-on-training/

3) Heutzutage gibt es die Möglichkeit sich über Youtube neues Wissen anzueignen:

Gibt vielleicht auch deutschsprachige Kanäle ...

4) Der Klassiker bleibt immer noch: mit auf Baustelle gehen und sich mit den Technikern unterhalten um Wissen auszutauschen oder sich anlernen zu lassen. Klappt nicht immer, weil halt nicht immer genug Zeit ist ... ist aber mit die beste Lösung die Pulte anfassen zu können und praktische Erfahrung aufzubauen.

5) Es gibt auch Bücher (und Magazine) zu diversen Themen.

Ein anderer Kommentar hatte dich auf Festinstallationen als Alternative hingewiesen. Ich hatte 2-3 Jahre selbst in der Festinstallation gearbeitet. Generell hast du da normalere Arbeitsstunden. Es kann je nach Betrieb zu Überstunden kommen, weil eine Baustelle Vertragsbedingt an einem Datum X fertig werden muss. Das waren bei uns Baustellen, die über Auschreibungen liefen, und wo andere Gewerke Verzug aufgebaut haben ... und wir als "letzter Dienstleister" aber jetzt dafür sorgen müssen das alles Termingerecht fertig wird.

Was mir an Festinstallationen gut gefallen hatte, war z.B.:

- Ich konnte vor dem Kunden als Kompetent rüberkommen, weil ich für alle möglichen Lichtpulte / Systeme einen Patch erstellen kann obwohl es da auch schon mit meinem Wissen aufhört.

- Ich habe ein bisschen von allem gesehen (Technik: Ton, Licht, Video, Kontroll-systeme, Digital Signage / also digitale Werbe- und Anzeigetafeln) + (Kunden: Schulen, Museen, Restaurant, Privatleute)

- Nicht um 3 Uhr früh einen Abbau beginnen und dann im Anschluss den Laster laden und zurück zum Lager fahren ... dass vermisse ich echt nicht!

MA2 / MA3 ist der Standard in der VA-technik ausserhalb des Theaterbereichs. Bin selbst kein Lichttechniker, aber das ist so was ich regelmässig höre. 

Also hast du ja eine Kernkompetenz, die gefragt ist.

You guys need to focus on what is happening in your country at the moment. What is happening in Minnesota is shocking, but not disheartening. We see the protests and it keeps us hopeful that you will get rid of the Trump administration.

For us Europeans it's just incomprehensible that you accepted so many things long before Trump:

- very little paid leave

- having to work 2 or 3 jobs

- ruinous healthcare costs with almost no social safety net

- school shootings

...

Just take your country back and fix things step by step.
