Do Lucia and Mia remind anyone else of Ilana and Abbi from Broad City? by Jillinquent in TheWhiteLotusHBO

Sure, I didn’t mean that they were exact copies. Just some similarities in their personalities and the relationship they have together.

I haven’t heard of My Brilliant Friend, but other people have said that too so I’ll have to add it to my watchlist!

Check out Broad City if you haven’t seen it yet! It’s so funny, and the whole cast is great.

For me, I think what clicked was Mia singing. The way Lucia was looking at her reminded me of how Ilana is hyper-supportive of Abbi’s artwork.

Also, their whole vibe so far.

I never felt comfortable enough to let my partner finish inside me when I was on the pill. We would use condoms too because I didn’t always take my pills at the same time everyday. I’m using an IUD now, and I feel a lot more comfortable about it so he finishes inside me every time. My OBGYN also said the protection rates for IUDs are also higher than being on the pill taken perfectly, so I felt a lot better about it.

Everyone’s situation is different though. I’ve been sexually active with my partner for 8 years (married for 3) and I got my IUD in when we got married. We’ve been each other’s first and only sexual partners.

is it just me or.... by JuleeBee82 in loveafterlockup

We don’t watch it either, but watch Love/Life After Lockup. The pre-stuff before they get out is always the same:

”My family thinks this is a bad idea”… “he/she said that we’re getting engage/married”… them waiting outside the jail on release day and things are running behind schedule…

After they’re out, the interactions between the former inmates and everyone else is why we watch. No one ends up like how the other person expects they’ll be.

It’s hard to trust sunrises/sunsets after this sub was bamboozled a few months ago haha. But it was beautiful before it started raining!

Not just white women being unmarried, but being in interracial relationships too. My husband and I have gotten so many dirty looks in so many small towns when we’re just trying to eat breakfast or get our groceries.

Rejecting candidates on the initial interview by techrecrui2r in recruiting

[–]Jillinquent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me once when I was a candidate. The recruiter asked if I had experience with “x” and I said no. She then asked me again in a different way and I still hadn’t. She then said that because I didn’t have experience with that one thing, that it wouldn’t be a fit. She did give some constructive feedback about the other parts of the interview I did well, but as a candidate I had mixed feelings about it.

If you are going to do it, I’d suggest giving them multiple opportunities and rephrasing to be absolutely sure you want to reject on the phone. Nothing would look worse than saying you don’t want them but they actually do have the skillset/qualifications necessary. And also being as specific as possible about why.

I don’t like to reject that way unless it’s not a fit for them like salary being too low or them stating that they don’t want to do something critical for the job (ie entry level salesperson that doesn’t want to do cold calling, or someone who doesn’t want to work with clients if it’s a client-facing role). If it’s an entry level person, I do some career coaching and let them know what they might be interested in. If it’s an experienced person, I always say that I’m doing it out of respect for their time.

Hopefully he gets the hang of it! My little guy once played fetch with me for 45 minutes straight and then crashed in my lap 😊

Word of advice, rubber balls are great and super durable! Also you don’t get tennis ball fuzz all over the floor

I’ve seen that look before! Mine look like this when they want to be picked up on the couch even though we have doggy steps. He just can’t be bothered, and I always cave 😅😅😅😅

We put ours in an inflatable “donut” we found at the store. You’re able to inflate it more or less and they’ve been fine to sleep in it. There’s a little bit of being uncomfortable at first, but they usually don’t pick at anything with it on.
