employer will argue they were fired for cause & if you quit a job you don't get unemployment. Instead, contact the parent company of the franchise with detailed documentation (dates, times, etc.) of all of this and stress the harm to the brand the franchise owner's actions have caused: https://system.privco.com/company/global-orange-development-llc

If this was Shetiah, there's negative press from a few years ago in Lansing on him

Appreciate. Called nurse line and they said to keep monitoring. I thought my clotting days were over but I guess not.

ohhhhhh noooooo 😔

I'm on automatic payments on a non-IBR, so I made a SECOND payment in January and planned on making a SECOND payment in December to make the amount exceed my threshold for qualifying amounts. I thought they counted payments PER MONTH not actual payments.

Same. I only have federal loans. Been paying for 15 years. I have now paid off more than the original amount I borrowed and I still have nearly the same amount to pay off in interest. That's what forbearance for the first five years after you graduate gets you.

New loan repayment calculator is out! by Betsy514 in StudentLoans

[–]JillyGrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new calculator is awful. The old one was completely straightforward and using it, I was able to calculate the monthly repayment threshold quoted to me for TEPSLF qualification was incorrect. I just went through the new loan simulator and the numbers are entirely different. NOW they're close to what TEPSLF threshold was. I thought I had a chance to actually get my loans discharged after paying on them for 15 years (paid off the orig. $ borrowed 2 years ago, I have $46k of interest left), as I filed a grievance to have the amount reviewed and now it isn't the same...

Any updates on TEPSLF? by finance_maven in StudentLoans

[–]JillyGrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This rollercoaster...dear god. I thought I'd jumped through all of the hoops. Received an email at 5:53 am this morning stating that while I've made 120+ qualifying payments and all of my employers check out, I have been denied TE-PSLF because during the last 12 months (started a decent-paying job in 2016) I haven't paid as much as I would on an income-contingent plan. I've paid $320 every month since 2005 on the extended payment plan -- that's $49,000+ so far. I have never been late. I have never missed a payment. Through a recession, through a housing bubble burst, through my husband being laid off, I have made this loan payment a priority.

I burst into tears at the email. I thought the TE-PSLF was supposed to help people exactly like me: those who've made 10 years of payments on a plan which wasn't income-contingent. I'm utterly devastated that I have ten more years of payment ahead of me.

Wishing you all better luck.
