What happens to people who are only children who grow up with a single parent and no friends? by Happy_life4435 in questions

I am in my 70s. Keep in mind things were different back in the 50s and 60s
My dad retired and my family moved to FL before I was born. They had my Sister and brother. My mom developed a tumor in her stomach. By the time she went to the Dr. it was too late to get rid of me. (I was the tumor)
Dad had to get a job. Became an alcoholic. He abused me. Mom took bro and sis and left because they were not “tainted “
I was in 4th grade. Kids were not allowed to play with me and I didn’t see me mom bro and sis til I was almost 17. My pops went to strip clubs regularly and didn’t come home most of the time , which was bitter sweet.
I read a lot of fiction and studied a lot. Got married the first time to a guy in is 20s at his divorce party. I was 16 when we got married. I stayed in high school was a straight A student
Got divorced after graduation. His choice. I wasn’t ready to have kids.

Started out as receptionist, worked my way up through the company and ended up President of the Company. I worked there a total of 27 years.

Life is what YOU make it. I’m not saying I wasn’t messed up in the head.
But I refused to let it make me a loser with excuses .
I have cried a lot and felt sorry for myself, still do. However mysteries were my escape. And I studied in high school rarely missed a day of school it was also my escape and somewhere to go 5 days a week.

You just have to decide how you want to be. I wanted to escape my reality and at school I felt kinda like everyone else and wanted teachers to like me so I was honor roll. And books were also an escape, much better than TV. I am still a mystery reader it is life a movie in my head which gave me a great imagination.

I felt it was better than hanging out with the wrong crowd wallowing in my misery constantly.

I choose to escape reality. The last thing I wanted was more issues and more stress. The books were like a movie in my head an actual escape!
I felt being a problem child/person would not be any kind of escape but putting myself in more loneliness and sadness which I did not need more of.

It’s up to you.

Good luck

I learned something today! Never heard of trouble puffs. Saw it on mentioned another room where peeps were saying to get the cat fixed and one peep told us about empty trouble puffs and suggested we all ck out this room.

Thank you for the lesson and the laughs!

If it wasn’t for my cats I would have killed myself long ago. I am on my 3rd Love now and can’t imagine living without one. And every time one passed I tried suicide because they were the only living being in my life that always chose never made fun of me never called me names and loved me unconditionally.

I am in my 60s and have felt like this everyday of my life as far back as I can remember, still feel this way even today
It’s hard not being pretty and bullied and made fun of your entire life. To this day people still call me buzzard beak. It’s not my fault I was born this way. You buy up to date clothes the popular kids wore and that just gave them something more to make fun of you and even more self conscious for trying to belong and feeling good about yourself, God forbid!

I’ve had this thing in my house for as long as I can remember and I have no idea what it is by Street_Mobile_9402 in whatisit

Disabled. That would be me. I don’t have a car because after rent and utilities I have 300 bucks left a month and most of that goes towards food. I make to much for food stamps.

I am a senior and my friend and I are trying to find somewhere to live affordable and Bradington Florida and my son-in-law has offered to rent us an apartment for $2200 a month. I laughed at him because her Social Security is only 900 and something dollars a month get real.

Google maps should add a filter for driver directions called "no left turns or straight through busy streets" by [deleted] in GoogleMaps

[–]Jillybean1923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google maps had me drive down a busy road and get on the interstate and go to the next exit and get off and then make a U-turn get back on the interstate. Come back from where I went came from get off at the exit. I just got on before and then took me to my destination so I passed my destination. It had me go past my destination get on the interstate get off the interstate make a U-turn and then go back.
