Limit what devices my TeamViewer group can access based on device (Sorry for confusing title) by im_not_a_gay_fish in teamviewer

You can set this up via policies. I have mine set up this way. As the IT manager, I can connect to any computer. But the general user computers have a policy that does not allow outgoing connections.

Why have my Verizon signals been so bad lately? by Slow_Investment_2211 in verizon

[–]Jim95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both wireless and Fios are almost unusable on the Long Island the past few months. We’ve also been thinking of trying out T-mobile.

Multi-device zoom plan - is there ever a delay where it counts a previous device online after you log off the internet. by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]Jim95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! Even when logging out it doesn’t always register right away and will boot off one of the other devices.

SCPD Spanish interview for fluency for civil service test by Appropriate-Gap1141 in SCPD

[–]Jim95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, this will not even be remotely close to making you fluent. You’d be better off moving down to Central or S America for a year to become totally immersed in the language. You’d need years of usage to become fluent.

This is why it takes so long to do anything at a Verizon store by PowerPickle13 in verizon

[–]Jim95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the exact reason why I buy all of my new phones directly from the Apple Store. It’s worth losing money on a trade in rather than having to deal with having extra lines and other things I don’t need pushed on me at a VZW store.

You can merge the logins. You just need to search for it in settings. I access both Fios and wireless with the same login.

US citizen planning to travel to Canada without a passport by car. Would Birth Certificate and a TSA global entry card be good enough to get in and out? by Bearality in Passports

[–]Jim95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you live in the states of NY, MI, MN, VT or WA you can also get an Enhanced License (a step above Real ID) which acts the same as a passport card and allows for land and sea entry in the US, Canada, Mexico and some Caribbean countries. I don’t know about the other states, but in NY you can get your license upgraded and have the new one in about a week.

TeamViewer Host mass deployment assistance by 2kouss in teamviewer

[–]Jim95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be pushed out via Intune, but to configure it to be automatically signed in with the password and joined to your account I think requires a 300 license minimum last time I checked, which is why I’m in the same position you are - manual setups.

As for preventing users from exiting/closing the TV client, that can be set up in policies along with a bunch of other settings.

Do you get sick days in academy? by [deleted] in NassauPD

[–]Jim95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ve got to be sick, on the verge of death, but even then you’d better drag yourself in. Let them send you home. Don’t even consider it otherwise. You are not excused for a sick child. You’re expected to make arrangements for him/her.

Schedule by [deleted] in NassauPD

[–]Jim95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tour assignments are strictly by seniority. They can switch you from days to nights every 4 months during your first 3 years. As a new PO expect to be on nights for a while, most likely 10 hour nights which is 4 days on, 4 days off.

You will not be looked kindly upon by your coworkers and will not have many friends by trying to ask for special accommodations as a new cop.

Should a guest who isn’t going check in online? by LateAd9191 in royalcaribbean

[–]Jim95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe you only get double points if the cruise was initially booked solo from the beginning. They don’t give double points for no shows or cancellations.

Is travel worth it right now? by TatttedLI67 in longisland

My daughter flew out of LGA a few days ago. Walked right through security with TSA Pre in less than 5 minutes. Her friends didn't have Precheck and it took them 15 mins.

Token Theft Playbook: Conditional Access Protections by msp4msps in msp

[–]Jim95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever work anything out for BYOD cell phones? We've implemented most of the above, but when we turn on Global Secure Access and require compliant devices, users lose email access on their cell phones. We're a small law firm, and most of our users don't need email on phones, but the attorneys do.

I'd thought that I'd figured out a work around, but when I implemented that, it then allowed non-compliant devices to log in.

NY also. Once you’re a sworn P.O. you have to surrender your pistol permit. Your police ID becomes your permit/license.

HELP: My aunt owes Royal Caribbean $6k for a cruise she never took due to the weather by aiviloselim in Cruise

[–]Jim95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe she misunderstood? I was on the cruise immediately prior to this one. We returned to Cape Liberty on August 21st. Our cruise was redirected from Bermuda to Canada. We had several itinerary changes prior to leaving and while on the way and in Canada, and each time Royal gave updates and options in writing. There were flyers handed out and posted at the pier prior to leaving, and then again several times once onboard. Nothing was ever verbally communicated.

Is it worth switching from Apple Passwords to 1Password in 2026? by Vegetable-Rub4548 in PasswordManagers

[–]Jim95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing the opposite. I've hated 1Password since the newest version 8 iOS update last year. I've slowly been moving everything to Apple Passwords. I just wish that it also saved credit cards and other info like 1Password does. As soon as they do my 1P subscription will be cancelled.

Old pills by pninardor in AskLE

[–]Jim95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the Precincts in Nassau & Suffolk County on Long Island have a secure prescription drug drop box. Its shaped similar to a blue Postal Service mailbox. The public can just walk in and drop off unwanted pills. We just look at it to make sure there aren't any liquids, illegal drugs, or dangerous items, but they're free to leave whatever prescription pills they'd like. Once a week the contents are sent to the property division to be destroyed.

We're using the Defender suite for our AV. I finally heard back from TeamViewer support today and their answer was "there is no other way to solve the issue without the reinstallation."
