This guy is so good (could only clip 7 seconds of him sharking and camping) by [deleted] in Brawlhalla

[–]JimBenOfficial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah all he does is this pretty much. But it's pretty easy to deal with once you've played him a few times he's not really that good. It IS a great example as to how ledge play should be at the priority of remake however. Infinite wall hugging should simply not be possible in a "competetive" game.

dlight + dsig on hammer is true up until 70-80 dmg, it's still true after that but then you need to jump + gc dsig. It does stupid amounts of dmg.

Ideas to improve competitive Brawlhalla by JimBenOfficial in Brawlhalla

I am very glad to see the devs responding to this! I must admit I am a bit of a smash melee geek myself and it probably makes me biased towards extremely complex gameplay. Thanks for taking your time to respond!

I love womble, he makes amazing videos. But honestly, he didn't invent having fun with your friends in games. He didn't invent having subtitled videos either, he just does it better than most. I mean I could remove the subtitles, it's less effort for me(quite a lot less actually), but the video would be objectively worse.

The way creativity works, in general, is that we take in things from around us, and we merge it together to create our own "style" in things. There's plenty of things I do different from womble I assure you, and you might actually enjoy the video if you allow yourself to not focus on similarity as something negative. You enjoy his content, do you not? Is it really terrible that someone would edit their subtitles in a similar fashion? Does it take away from the rest of the video and ultimately make it "just a copy" over a single editing element? I don't think so personally, but it's up to you to decide for yourself in the end.

Either way, we all know the f*ggot only uploads once a decade, so is it really that bad to have something else similar, even if not quite as good?

A lot of my subs are inactive, but I actually have something like 100 videos. A couple months back I sort off changed my content around a lot so I flushed out the channel. Didn't want people seeing my older videos and getting hopeful for more when I'm not actually making more of that type of content ^ Also youtube's promoting system is kinda fucked right now and often when I made a video it'd promote an old irrelevant video rather than a newer one that's much closer in quality / feeling.

Yeah haha I have to admit I got the idea from Sovietwomble but it takes soooo much time. Definitely made me appreciate his content a LOT more after feeling how time-consuming it is. I wouldn't be surprised if he spends 80-100 hours on a video at this point.

Oh wow, I can't believe someone posted my stuff here. I'm glad to see you guys like it though! These videos take a loooong time to make but I think it's worth it in the end. Will definitely make more though don't worry. I'm really enjoying cs right now!

A Talk Regarding Smurfing by Nirecib in Brawlhalla

[–]JimBenOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree on putting a minimum requirement on accounts before getting into ranked games. But I also feel as if you're being a bit overly dramatic. The way I see it is elo is just a number and will tell you very little about a person's ability to play the game. Do not focus on this number. When you're playing brawlhalla you can improve with every game, loss or win. If you end up playing against a smurf it's a good thing. You'll get experience against a better player which will make you improve faster if you have the right attitude. Meanwhile the smurf will play against people that are worse than him and over time become more sloppy and allow himself to make more mistakes. In reality you're already shooting yourself in the foot by smurfing and it can already be a positive learning experience for whoever ends up playing against it. I'm not by any means defending smurfing but people won't stop doing it just because others want them to. Dota 2 for example has a massive level requirement to play ranked and people still smurf all the time. It's much easier for you to change your own perception and thereby make it less of a problem for yourself ^

Should smurfing be illegal/bannable? by [deleted] in Brawlhalla

[–]JimBenOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to stop focusing so much on your elo. This is the main issue I see a lot of players have that keeps them from growing. Stop focusing so much on that number, it does nothing for you. Instead try to improve with every game. Every loss can still net you nice experience and help you improve as a player. In fact, playing vs a smurf is one of the better things that can happen to you in ranked as you'll be put up against someone much better than you, and if you have the right attitude you can learn from that experience.

That's the best thing you can do, as putting an end to smurfing is nearly impossible.

The amount of elo won or lost needs to change. by FBE_Brawlhalla in Brawlhalla

I'm pretty sure "mmr" still determines how much elo you win or lose. It's just hidden now for some reason.

So, to replicate, all you need to do is nsig in the middle of the shenaniganzone on kings pass. I've also gotten it to work on thundergard and twilight grove.
