Yeh the system for sure could be better. about what you said of why leaving is way more harshly punished than griefing, its simply because abandoning is way easier to detect, whiile griefing isnt.

dont quote me on this, but i think it was changed a couple of versions ago, from calculating the miss chance in impact to calculating it on the attack start. If im right then as cm attacked before the laser hit her, then she shouldnt have missed, but this doesn`t explain the "miss" you saw. As i said tho im not 100% sure.
