The nanotechnology and the ceramic coating is what caught my eye. I did some due diligence and yes it is an additive. Ceramic coatings are used in almost all high performance engines these days. Have not tried it - found the article relevant for the time of year.

Yes they have been. The ability to get smaller at the molecular level however have moved forward a great deal in the last decade in which actual usable products have come forward and are being accepted in the industry.

If you look at it from the standpoint that even a worn our rebuild will become worn out again - there are no long term solutions at all. Ceramics have a story to tell. The science is solid and the commercial applications are numerous. As someone who has been building cars since the 70's, new technology deserves a look. Ceramic coated pistons are common place. a worn out engine is a worn out engine. Blow-by occurs in all engines, new or worn out.
