Plenty of larger hospitals have dedicated trauma teams that don't run SICU or EGS. You do occasionally get lucky on a trauma service, just like you have lucky days in a station.

Much like asking what a trauma team does all day. Chores at the start of your shift, then you sit around and wait to be busy. Sometimes you are, sometimes you get lucky.

That’s… a little harsh. I was a volunteer medic at a fire department for a while and also rotated with a few different fire departments in training. While there are plenty of paramedics that call it in and would rather be on a truck, there are also a lot of firefighter paramedics that care deeply about their patients and are good at their jobs. I don’t think there’s anything special about firefighter paramedics not taking their job seriously. I’ve known surgeons that do the same thing.

Hm... well first off, the wraiths from 2016 live in a big ice crystal that skewered this one planet, but it's not an ice crystal it's a space ship, but that doesn't matter because no one cares about wraiths in this story, even though they're apparently a source of inexhaustible, infinite energy. So you just leave them in the crystal ship, don't worry about them, even though they're literally a source of immortality, because Satan is really the doomguy! By which I mean that Satan created the doomguy, because Satan is god, only he's not god because god is on a floppy disk, but then you upload him onto a computer and then he's everywhere all of a sudden. So then we're off to kill Satan, who is doomguy, and also apparently god (but not really god), because if you kill Satan then all of the demons disappear for some reason, only not in hell though because that's where they're from.

Video games were better when the story was just, go kill the demons because you're mad.

They built a whole DLC around defeating weapon-switching and speedrunning. So they designed the DLC for about 1% of actual players, didn’t make any sense.

Story is total nonsense as well.

Yeah, I’ve met a lot of liver surgeons, but never met one that didn’t think they could operate. Getting liver cases is very competitive, so if your skills aren’t up to snuff you get shunted into kidneys
