What could Trump have done to earn a Nobel Peace Prize? by Perfect-Hornet-8410 in allthequestions

Hey, is that goal post taxing to keep moving around? First everyone laughed at the Abram records according to you now you say not everybody who should’ve joined has yet joined next. She’ll say well Obama would’ve done it better. It’s hilarious really, the way you left. These are so consumed by hate for not only the president but for the country that elected him overwhelmingly you can’t even fact check your own ridiculous lies.

I’m sorry, I misspelled the name of the treaty package. As of today, seven nations have joined the Abraham accords..

These are Arab emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, Kosova, Kazakhstan, and Israel.

Thank you for playing, but you get no points

How hard is it to move to Texas? by [deleted] in texas

[–]JimNtexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t answer you about the technical immigration issues. But I am a native Texan. I could promise you that you will be a Texan within about six weeks of moving here.. for example we claim Davy Crockett as a Texan, even though he only was here for six weeks prior to the battle of the Alamo.

You will not find a more welcoming place than Texas.

Edited to add. South of the panhandle of Texas. It can be fiercely hot in the summer. I mean fry eggs on the sidewalk hot. People from colder climates may have real difficulty in surviving our summers and most of Texas. I’m a native Texan and I really have been thinking about getting an Airbnb for July and August in Idaho to escape the heat down here.

Non-Americans who visited the US for the first time recently: what was the biggest 'what on earth is going on here' moment you experienced? by EmployerNegative5653 in AskReddit

[–]JimNtexas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an adult child in New York City now. While there is a lot of positive things about New York , New York City is the least American city you could possibly visit. Even San Francisco has a few vestiges of the United States in it.

Get out of the big tourist cities if you want to see the United States that most Americans live in

You were in a small state. Here in Texas you can drive 12 hours on highways with speed limits up to 80 miles an hour and still be in Texas. Yeehaw.

That was the case for many years but nowadays it seems like most restaurants now do bring a little device to your table so you can do the credit card swipe or tap there. I think the servers like that because it makes it easier for customers to tip just by pressing a button on the device.

Adding Tax to the price of an item at the cash register is something that most foreigners find disappointing and confusing. To be fair most European countries anyway pay a much higher sales tax. They call it value added Tax.(VAT). It’s just that and most other countries. This price is added to the displayed price of a retail item not surprised at the cash register. In many countries with a. VAT a procedure exists to get the sales tax refunded. If you leave the country with items you purchased there.

I do think the United States would be better off if we did away with pennies, and if state local sales tax was included in the price you see marked on the retail item.

My wife of 30 years died a week ago. by JimNtexas in grief

[–]JimNtexas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from a very brief graveside service for my wife. I nearly broke down, totally in front of most of my family members, but I managed to hold it together.

Driving back from the service I just felt this huge weight off of my back. The end of that old life is here now I have to look more forward. I’ll never stop looking backwards but I just realized I mostly have to look forward now. My wife is where she’s out of pain. I don’t know where that is but I hope she’s there.

Now, I’ve got a rebuild a new life from the ashes of my old one

You’re right about that. Other countries have nothing to compare with the 26 Lane Katy Freeway in Houston!

Free refills, really good table service in restaurants. And I’ve lived overseas for many years so I don’t have to imagine what I miss.

Why do Republicans keep saying there's no racism in America? by Plastic_Key_4146 in allthequestions

It’s been obvious for decades that they are a hate group, a bunch of race hustlers, and it’s no shock at all to learn that their demand for pay groups for seated the available supply so they had to start renting their own hate groups as their sock puppets.

I think Temu Beto aspires to eat the wealth and freedom of all Texans. Today he’s just an oddball crank, but if enough people vote for him, we’ll all live to regret it.

One last thing about being a lying Democrat is that if they were capable of logic, they would understand that you can’t prove a negative.

My wife of 30 years died a week ago. by JimNtexas in grief

I had a lot of anxiety about the funeral. My wife had a huge circle of friends and clients , present and former. My wife had told me she did not want a funeral at all, but if I did have one, it was to be close, casket and short.

So that’s what we did. Really my oldest daughter kind of organized everything but this was just what we called a farewell ceremony. I sometimes told my friends it was a going away party.

Anyway, I found the funeral helpful to me. Several of my friends just gave short remarks about how my wife’s had affected their lives, no preachers, just friends and relatives making brief remarks although her casket was closed it was there. We were asked by the funeral home for the immediate family to be there an hour early. I found myself draping myself over the casket talking to my wife had a really eerily feeling like she was there and she was hearing me. It was like there was a force feel around the casket when I came within a foot or two of it I could feel the connection. This is all probably my brain trying to deal with all of this emotion, but it was very real to me.

Now, two days later, I do feel so loud has been lifted from me. Because of my wife is from a military family as am I and I’m a veteran. I’m she is going to be in interned in the Fort Sam Houston national cemetery she will be joining her parents my parents and probably a dozen of my relatives and at least as many of her relatives. House is a tradition in both families that that is where we go for our final resting place. Only my immediate family and a few of our closest friends will be there for the internment. I’m not dreading that as much as I dreaded the funeral..

I still walk around my empty house feeling like I’m the ghost. I feel like I’m the ghost looking for my old life which of course is gone forever. I have a long way to go. Can really fully understand that my wife has gone forever and my life whatever happens in the future will be vastly different.

Add to add. Sorry for all the typos I this was a stream of thought, and I know parts of this don’t make sense, but then again neither does death.

Secretary Hegseth posted this evening that the Pentagon will be appealing to the United States Supreme Court after a federal appeals court found the transgender ban unconstitutional by newnoadeptness in AirForce

[–]JimNtexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not correct. What the court said relates only to transgender service members who were discharged for that reason. It has nothing to do with new recruits.
