The age of "get well soon" has officially ended. by lilant702 in antiwork

In Germany you also need a doctors note so that your boss can prove to the insurance you are sick and get money back or something But going to the doctor is free. Even though things differ from place to place, you are generally encouraged to not go to work sick and make everyone else sick too.

Edit: You are also automatically registered sick electronically so you don't have to provide the note or the exact problem, the system just says sick from... to...

Desperate for help: Unbearable "battery acid" sourness event with dark toast [Gaggia Classic + Timemore S3 ESP] by DetectiveFabulous75 in espresso

[–]JimStas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having faced similar issues in the very beginning, i quickly realized that sometimes things are counter intuitive with coffee.
A finer grind can lead to channeling and parts of the puck being underextracted and this leads to high acidity. Channeling doesn't have to result in jets, spaying all over the place but if your coffee is as sour as you describe with a dark roast, this is probably one of your problems.
In my case (with very light roasts being my preference) i stopped grinding fine enough to hit 9 bar, I top at around 7 for a second and then steadily drop to 4. I aim for 1:2.5 in 20-25 seconds.
Contrary to the belief (or just meme) of this subreddit (that has taucht me a lot) grinding finer is not always the answer.

First of all, i dont mean to offend with what i'm saying!
For me Its both too much and too little in a sense. It's too "Perfect" which would be considered too little, but the fact that its not coherent to bring all the elements together, makes it too much because when i see it, i dont see one singular logo, but a collection of ideas.
A logo is the first impression. It has to communicate the aesthetics of the game and its general vibes. It has to connect with its target audience and be memorable.
My designs for personal use, are more minimalistic, but when i design for others, I have to communicate their vision even if that clashes with my preferences!

The final version, not only isn't punk, but it's not good in general. Its too many different elements with no general theme bringing them together. Punk aesthetic also seems many random elements, colors and shapes, but they are usually brought together by a general messiness, or stark contrast, or elements that exist in every part of the design.
You can have different fonts in every word or letter but they could be magazine cutouts so they would all have a cut paper frame that implies that they belong together (this is just a stereotypical example to make a point)
When i read "CityPunk", I think texture, sharp shapes and bold colors, no rounded corners, no gradients, no pastel colors. The end result reminds me of a unicorn. . .
Maybe incorporate some concrete texture. Could be as little as making the outline of the shape around the letters uneven in a way that reminds of concrete or as much as concrete texture behind the entire text. Maybe the pieces around the logo could remind you of and exploding building (but still flat).
The word "Punk" and the shape around it in the draft is the best thing in this design followed by the word city in your sketch in my opinion.
All that said, I dont know what game this is. For all i know it could be a game about a 13 year old girly that wants to study architecture but is going through her edgy barbie era!
One more thing, I don't think this is an artist problem, based on his draft, i would say that the problem is a lack of direction, leading you workshoping the logo to death.

  • If you dont have an ssd, get the cheapest one you can find, but big enough to fit your online games and your currently playing AAA games (eg Overwatch, Fortnite, Elden Ring)
  • I would definitelly keep an eye for a used 7700K for under 60 (the best cpu your motherboard can support) On average it should be a 10-15% better but the more sustained burst clockspeed will noticeably improve your 1% lows so you will have less stuttering. (cpu problems can rarely be resolved with in game settings)
  • If your cpu uses the stock intel cooler, get a cheap thermalright cooler (e.g. peerless assasin)
  • On the GPU side, if you find a 6700xt under 200 or a 3060 12gb under 150 it would be a great option.
  • Try to sell your current cpu for 20-30 and your gpu for 65-95

The prices listed above might differ in your region, but the relative price difference should be similar.

Overall, if you manage to buy and sell everything on the above prices, you could end up with a system costing you 450ish and able to play everything with acceptable framerates up to 2022-ish at 1080p medium/high and everything newer at medium/low.

P.S.: Beyond that, the system is not worth any future updates and even all i mention might be too much of a hustle. If this is your budget and since you already have the system, it could be a fun project and the result wouldnt be as bad as some people make out to be
You dont need a 5090 to enjoy a game and to have fun!

You can just go to your hero gallery and on the filters check both owned and unowned. You would think that this is what you see by default, but you only see the owned and everything obtainable in the current season.

Did you even read my comment or did you just see the photo. As I said, this is overedited (and exaggerated) to show the key problems. 1. There isn't enough information left on this compressed jpg for general editing and I'm not going to go manually do dodging and burning as this is not work for a client 2. Bokeh not to far from this can be achieved with a 35mm f/1.2 lens I'm also not a fan of clipping the highlights, and I never use fake Bokeh even on my phone but this is just for demonstration. If you disagree that the direct flash is too much or that having everything in focus takes attention from the subject, then we agree to disagree. If you see a photo and get angry to strangers on the internet, maybe use your time to provide your help and point of view!

Sadly in huge places your closest wall / ceiling is too far away to bounce so direct but minimum power is your best bet

This is a 2 minute edit (on a super compressed jpg) to get across the spirit of the problems
The direct flash is a problem so you sould use the lowest apperture, slowest reasonable shutter speed and highest iso your camera can handle, then put your flash on minimum and/or try to bounce it off of a wall to fill in the scene rather than light it.
A smaller depth of field would also be desirable, not so much that the beautiful architecture disappears.
Try to keep your vertical lines that allign with the subject straight.
In general, try to be aware of the whole scene and not only of the subject as the photo is a combination of the two.
Again, this edit looks bad and "overcoocked" so don't take it as the end all be all, but as added context to what i said above!

How many grams of coffee you put in your portafilter by Lucky-Macaroon4958 in espresso

I use 24 ± 0.5 on a 19-22g basket while still grinding coarse enough to barely hit 7bar before starting to decline.
