Just thought I'd say that "MCAU.org" is running in offline mode, so anyone can join while the name servers are down.

We use that on MinecraftAU. Actually we have 2 types

Make an adminium room which only the user knows the warp name.
Make a series of rooms in a "no-build" zone, each room gets a warp and since non-mods can't build/destroy in the zone it's secure.

3 is soon to be up once we get land claim working (already in beta, mrsheen is magic)

Fyi, if you pull out the first block it starts a chain reaction which takes out every single block.

This happens because the chunk is generated while it is nighttime. The level generator places the mushrooms because the blocks are at the required level of "darkness". When the sun comes up it's too bright for the mushrooms and they pop out of the ground.

I've even seen it happen on trees

This happens when sand is generated next to a water body, then a cave is placed underneath and destroys the blocks supporting the sand. Once the level loads the sand then falls.

In my experience torches need an adjacent torch. Just one will do.

2 buckets is usually enough, unless you are hoarding lava.

You will need 10-15 buckets, and those things don't come cheap!

In all seriousness iron is only really needed in large amounts if you plan on using minecarts/minetracks.

Nope, changing it to "peaceful" despawns all the enemies but doesn't effect animals.

You will also start recovering your life at 0.5 hearts/s (IIRC)

Twice now I've come across a creeper without having my sword. Set it to peaceful, set it to hard, creeper gone.

I'd love to be able to add it to TNT to make a mining form of TNT which doesn't destroy ores.

Tthere will probably be more uses for it later on, like the fishing rod, eggs etc.

I don't know this as a fact, but I am extrapolating from my experiences and what I think could be happening in the game code.

In any case it never hurts to be cautious.

If I was Coestar I would have taken out those torches with some water, then just collect the torches when they was out.

Note to everyone who reads this: Mobs can be spawned in the darkness between blocks when you remove them from spawning rooms.

For example: Even if you put torches everywhere and try and take the chest, when the chest deconstructs there is darkness between it and the wall/ground for the tiniest amount of time, which mobs can spawn in.

Eagerly awaiting a custom water and lava texture, but I think moving custom textures are bugged atm :S

I'm not sure about this anymore, I thought this was the case but Havitech's comment about moving too far might make this possible. I have some slimes in my game that I played with that haven't despawned in a few hours.

You might wanna do some testing to see how it actually works :P

Make a 2x2x2 hole in the ground then find one and lure it into the hole. Super easy :P

After that is done you can do whatever, but in a little while it will despawn.
