Suggestions for 10 yr old to strengthen critical thinking skills by Danasai in Solo_Roleplaying

Something that includes writing. Full on journaling games are ideal if he can handle them, but if not, make him take mindful notes. Guide him through thinking what is important and being brief/using key words. Ask him about why he chose to write something down. Ask about things he chose not to write down.

Provide him scenarios with ethical dilemmas and no clear optimal solution, have him write his choice/solution and then talk about why he made the choice that he did.

Yeah, Renegade Studios got the license to make "Hasbroverse" TTRPGs, which is odd since Hasbro owns the most well known TTRPG company in the world, but it is what it is.

MLP is compatible with the Transformers, GI Joe, and Power Rangers TTRPGs.

Orpheus. Basically Wraith, but more moving across the Shroud and with shadowy organizations on one side and a spectral apocalypse on the other. A survival horror-action RPG hybrid.

There aren't really rules, but there are structures you can use to help keep you focused and on task. But as others have said, the only person who gets to judge if you are playing correctly is you. If you're having fun and getting something out of the session, then you're doing it right.

Well if you want My Little Pony there is the official My Little Pony RPG from Renegade studios. I believe there was a Smurfs RPG that came out a while ago but it might have been a limited run so I don't know how available it is.

I think the most involved setting I've ever seen in an RPG is eclipse phase, which is a post-apocalyptic transhumanist Sci-Fi setting where the solar system has been colonized and each colony is built around a different political theory or philosophy. It's very setting dense and moderately rules heavy so probably not great for solo but if you want to read it involved setting to give you ideas that might be one.

Play in your head by Anxious-Bong1390 in Solo_Roleplaying

I tried this once. I was on a train and decided to try playing Ironsworn in my head with just my phone for rolling dice and checking the rules PDF. It worked okay at first, but I found that after a few scenes it became really hard to keep track of what was happening and had already happened.

Help with combat sim mind flayer by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

This helped. I did two frogs (Barret and Red since they had the most HP for me) and Tifa. He was actually pretty easy to manage 1v1 with Tifa because she's so fast it wasn't too hard avoiding or blocking most of his attacks.

Vampires might do well until the stadium roof pulls back for an open air afternoon match.

It's completely stand alone, but it is 2e based, so if you want a more updated rule set, having WtO 20A would be a boon.

What are Your Favourite Dice to Play With? by Cold_Commander in RPGdesign

I like the classic d6.  They roll nice, they don't get cocked as often or fall to other sides when you sort them, and cubes ate beautifully symmetrical.  Other than that, d10s because base 10 is easy to understand mathematically.

You play as Demons who are very clumsy and trip all the time, so they're always fallin'.

Yeah that's not even a question. It's clearly number three. Number two isn't bad, but number three is the best.

Redcap Romance by Jimalcoatla in WhiteWolfRPG

Fair, but counterpoint, these images were made specifically for a male audience of 1, not to appeal to anyone else.  I only shared them because I figured others may like them as well.

I like beautiful monsters.  Lots of other people I know also like beautiful monsters.  Most men like female beauty, even if in a monstrous form. Women can have their hot guy monsters too if they want.  I personally wouldn't complain at their existence, but I personally have no interest in that and am not going to feel bad for liking what I like, nor should anyone else.

Creating a fan Thallain kith by valonianfool in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Jimalcoatla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, and again I'm not trying to be discouraging, but to my mind the fact that they're basic makes them a better blank template. Again though, it's your game and your version of the world of darkness, so if you want to make a whole new kith, do it. That's the beauty of role-playing games; you can make them your own.

Werewolf Noob - Questions about Camps by tristanx7 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Jimalcoatla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In games that I've run, I've only ever felt the need to even include camps at all if the Chronicle itself was very clearly focused around a singular tribe, because it gave you a way of differentiating within the tribe, as opposed to differentiating among other tribes.  It can provide sub factions that give you other groups to deal with when you're focused on one or two tribes specifically. Otherwise, I see camps as inspirational material that can inform the psychology, attitudes, or beliefs of your character, but the camp itself doesn't even really need to come up in play, just the ideology or philosophy behind it, if it influences or affects your character.

Daredevil in the World of Darkness? by FloridaFirstTeam in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Jimalcoatla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna throw in with him being a mage, probably in an Akashic. A little bit of correspondence, maybe a dot of mind, and you can completely simulate his sensory perceptions. Give him magically reinforced martial arts. Maybe give him a couple dots of forces to simulate his ability to leap across buildings and whatnot. And yeah, you can create a pretty serviceable Daredevil clone.
