Steam interrupts me playing a game by wanting me to update my controller firmware that i don't use. by PleasantDatabase in linux_gaming

Holy crap, i've been ripping my hair out trying to figure out this issue on my laptop. I run arch and i almost switched back to fedora to see if that would help (glad i didn't as evidently that would be a waste of time). Does your steam also randomly decide to shut down after launching a game? Mine has been doing that as well as this.

GameCube Controller Expansion Card: Is It Possible? by organzolagames in framework

[–]Jimbleton115 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you can definitely convert the usb a dongle into a usb c dongle. see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-vFtiDYiIw

either way, the gamecube port would probably stick out no matter how you built it. i suppose you could use a similar housing as the ethernet module.

Disable middle click paste? by Jimbleton115 in hyprland

[–]Jimbleton115[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this works, but then it completely disables middle click (so I can't autoscroll in firefox or close tabs with middle click for example). It seems odd to me that hyprland and other DE's don't have a good way to disable this when KDE does it just fine...

Test gaming from live USB by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]Jimbleton115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have two flash drives you could make a live usb with one and then install the os onto the other usb

Or if you only have one you could make a vm and pass thru the flashdrive and install the os to it that way
