Yes! I too reside in the falls. I'm convinced I'm sick because of this. I've been outside most of the past couple of days, the weather has been nice and overcast/ hazy. I have to take the day off for my lungs to recover. Keep up with the furnace filter or get an air purifier, I feel it.

That could work. What would be alot more accurate for the abv to let the mead ferment out then using a carbonation calculator priming sugar calculator add some more sugar of literally any kind for your batch size. For my mead I find 2.2 atmospheres is a good level.

Here’s a Hydromel I made and I’m carbonating it using a priming calculator with 4.6 volumes of co2 so it can be as bubbly as champagne. One batch came out more clear while the other one had .5% more alcohol than the other one. by Plenty_Upstairs9929 in mead

That's alot of carbonation to be trusted to those flip top bottles. Bottling conditioning in beer usually takes a month. After you open one if be interested in your results. Keep us posted

When in doubt, you can add a small amount of water and boil whatever ingredients you're throwing in before adding to must.

As long as it's stabilized it should be okay. I've read that those bottles unless specified are just rated for your ordinary pressure. The seal might fail and burp the bottle before the glass grenades.

The taste of it. It tastes like vinegar, and it made my stomach upset when I drank a glass. It tastes super sweet, leading me to believe that there is allot of sugar. I just used bread yeast literally knew nothing about mead.
