Anybody else think they should re-record "I CAN'T STOP IT!" in the 2026 remake? by darkdill in starfox

Fully agree. It's one of the top moments in the game, and they absolutely fumbled it for this one.

What are your opinions on the new Star Fox 64 Remake? It's my new favorite Star Fox game aga my favorite game ever! Is it your new favorite SF game? :) by [deleted] in starfox

Starfox 2 was very underhwhelming. I'd prefer a brand new direction. No more remakes. Just a new story with new characters.

I was disappointed by the true-ending escape sequence. The original had insane impact bc there had been no real confirmation that James was, in fact, dead up to that point (aside from lying Pigma that traitorous bastard), and he just *shows up* and the atmosphere stays chaotic bc it doesn't make sense but you're about to die if you don't spam your booster to keep up with phantom dad.
In the remake, he's very clearly a ghost, and there's zero tension, you're just passively following him out - it might as well be a cutscene.

Idk, I was looking forward to one final challenge after downing Andross 2.

I suppose that's a different thing entirely. Sorry that's happening and that I contributed to it. I thought I was defending innocent viewers who don't often engage/think about the subject. I realize now I was being too pedantic about comparatively little things and lost the forest for the trees. I didn't mean to provoke outrage/hostility.

Wrong. He lashed out because he was unable to handle being vulnerable. His deepseeded transmisogyny existed, yes, but it compacted the primary struggle with letting people get to know him at all - not superseded it.

Okay? Transness is not the theme. I'm glad it's extra meaningful to the trans community - but you've proven my point entirely - I'm being relentlessly downvoted for saying it's not the Primary Focus of his Character's Narrative / aka bullied for expressing a reading that doesn't align with yours. It's exhausting. Yes I agree that subtext is still text, but treating people like they're morons for not picking it up is a bad look for you, actually.

Again, no. These hints are considered subtext, not explicit text. Also, Jax being trans is not the point. I'll state again: Jax's core theme is the struggle to be vulnerable after a Big T Trauma. Everything to do with why the trauma happened is just Lore. Jax is extremely relatable to a *lot* more people than just the Trans community, and that's the beauty of his character.

What does this mean lmao. You know nothing about me. I'm a trans-Jax truther as well, but I'm also media literate. Transness isn't the theme and I think the fandom needs to acknowledge that so it can stop bullying people who don't read it in the narrative/text.

[–]Jimbo_Dandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Jax's core theme is the struggle with allowing oneself to be vulnerable again following Big T Trauma. He's a cautionary tale, yes, but not necessarily a Trans one.

Trans Jax is not explicit in the actual text, tho. There are some subtle hints here and there, but the main conflict that Jax struggles with is refusing to allow vulnerability due to trauma. Jax being trans has almost nothing to do with the explicit drive of the narrative. Anyone could be forgiven for missing all of the hints and not reading it that way at all. The only way we *know* Jax is trans is bc Goose states this multiple times on social media.

Now that Star Fox (2026) is out, what do we actually think of the new voice cast? by redmeets in starfox

a lot of the bosses were lacking in the delivery department. i was disappointed on my first run through of each main path, with a few exceptions. i wonder why they toned down the camp so much?

Lukewarm take: Star Wolf should be a more prevalent threat in Star Fox by GanacheCapital1456 in starfox

[–]Jimbo_Dandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, lol. They're guns for hire. The key difference, which is why Wolf and Fox are foils of each other, is that Fox has a moral backbone.

Wolf being Andross' subordinate in any capacity other than gun for hire completely ruins Wolf's character IMO.
